MFT Previews, Day 1 – It’s Five o’Clock Somewhere

Welcome to Day 1 of My Favorite Things‘ April release previews!

Teaser PRIZES begin today so be sure to leave comments as you look around.  You can find direct links to all participating DT HERE.  Each day, two prize vouchers are held by two members of our design team.  You’ll have all week to comment on each of the posts and all winners will be posted on Kim’s blog on Tuesday, April 3rd around 7:30pm.

Today we’re previewing Who’s That Girl Let’s Grab Drinks.

This bigger sized image is perfect for paper-piecing and to do so, I decided to pull out two of Lilly Bee Design’s newest paper pads, Buttercup and Handmade.

I stamped the image onto the blue patterned paper, then onto X-Press It Blending Card.  I colored the skin areas, then pieced the dress with a second pattern from the pack.  The flowers were die-cut using MFT’s Pretty Posies Die-namics with the black centers die-cut using our new Circle STAX.  I added two Leafy Flourishes and used one of our new Fishtail Flags STAX for the sentiment.

On the inside, I stamped the silhouette, an additional sentiment, and added another flower and flourish.

Here are the details about the upcoming release:

  • You can attend the New Release Party on April 3rd from 8-10 PM EST here in the MFT forum where you can enjoy fun, games and PRIZES!
  • The MFT release, including all new stamp sets and Die-namics, will take place April 3rd at 10 p.m. EST. You’ll find all the newest products here at release time.

I love your color scheme, and how you made the bold choice of using black to frame this pretty pastel piece (I would have sheepishly used white or kraft, or some other neutral hue), and also, for the Leafy Flourish. I’ve often used black flourishes, but it just never occurred to me to use it with the Leafy Flourish Die-namic… a light bulb just went on over my head! :)

  29. OOOH I really like this one too!! So stinkin cute!
