MFT Preview 4 — Welcome Baby

Today the My Favorite Things team is sharing samples of two *really* cute new Die-namics/Stamp sets — Baby Onesie and Airplane Greetings.

I chose to use the little monster face from Baby Onesie Stamp & Die-namics set.

I used Amuse Studio Eucalyptus ink for stamping and a Stampin’ Up Bordering Blue marker to add in the thin lines.  It’s easy to do as the die embosses lines in those areas.  (You can see uninked embossed lines where the sleeves begin.)

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from Big Greetings.

Here are the details about the upcoming release:

MFT Preview 3 — Let’s Hang Out

It’s Day 3 of My Favorite Things July previews!  Today the team is sharing samples using Complimentary Greetings, Clearly Sentimental about Audrey Hepburn and Claire Keay’s Monkey Business.

I used Claire Keay’s adorable Monkey Business along with new Vine Border Die-namics. My sentiment is stamped on a Sentiment Strip and I used Simply Scallops Medium along the bottom.

I had an extra strip of the Vine Border so I laid that across the bottom, cutting the sentiment panel to fit the curve.  (Easy “how to” below.)  The set comes with a banana which I stamped, masked and stamped two more times to create the small bunch.

I don’t have a fancy bendable ruler so here’s how I cut my paper to fit the curve of the vine:

First, I laid the white panel where I wanted it on the inside of the card.

I then used a pen (or a pencil will do) to add little dotted lines between each leaf.

Your paper will look like this.

Cut along the dotted line.

Make any slight adjustments as needed and adhere the vine.  :)

MFT Preview 2 — What’s Up?

It’s Day 2 of previews of My Favorite Things July 3 release! Today we’re sharing samples using Inspired by the Sea and You Lift Me Up Flopsey.

I separated my Flopsey image, masking off the balloons and then filling in the bits of missing lines from Flopsey using a Copic multiliner.

The sentiment was stamped onto a Fishtail Flag with a wee bit of yellow dotted paper adhered along the bottom.

I stamped the balloons, doing the same thing–filling in the missing lines with a marker.  Flopsey is raised on foam boosters and the stamped balloon strings were replaced with real white ones.  To ground Flopsey, I nestled him between two layers of Fresh Cut Grass.

I kept the inside super simple, using scraps of the patterned paper and stamping a second sentiment from the set.

MFT Preview 1 — Inspiration and Ice Cream

It’s time to begin previews of My Favorite Things‘ July release!

Today we’re sharing samples using two new sets:

  • Straight From the Carton (WTG), and
  • A very special new set, My Favorite Sentiments. MFT is so excited to celebrate our 6th birthday this month!   In honor of the celebration, we have a special offer for you.  From July 3 through July 31, we are offering the My Favorite Sentiments stamp set at the bargain price of just $6 ($17.95 retail value).  The stamp set is a graphic collection of sentiments inspired by you, our valued MFT fans.  :)   Please note: One set per customer, while supplies last; no rain checks.

My first sample uses My Favorite Sentiments along with new Designer Labels 3 STAX and Plentiful Petals Die-namics.

I used Amuse Studio Rialto and Burano pigment inks to stamp the sentiment, masking off each line, one at a time and then stamping. The center (sentiment) panel is raised on foam tape while the lower label is stitched to the panel.

Plentiful Petals comes with three different sizes of flowers and flower centers.  I only used the smaller size here, layering a “patterned” flower atop a cardstock flower and adhering with a fancy brad.

On the inside, I took advantage of the flower pattern on one of the patterned paper sheets, stamping only a sentiment (from Big Greetings) in the upper right corner and a couple flourishes (from Finishing Flourishes) in the lower right corner.

My second sample uses our new Straight From the Carton Who’s That Girl set.

I paper-pieced the image, coloring some portions with Copic markers.

On the inside, I stamped the remainder of the sentiment and a couple of flourishes in the lower corner.

I’m here when you need me…

I’m a big fan of Stamping Bella‘s Uptown Girls.  Today I’ve used Perry on her Laptop. I love the big comfy chair (and the pear).

The accompanying sentiment…..LOVE that.    So sweet.

I decided to give Perry a cute polka dotted chair, piecing that portion of the image using Echo Park’s “Soda Fountain” Dots & Stripes.  The rest is colored with Copics.

Here’s that super-sweet sentiment.  To the left I placed two layers of Pretty Posies Die-namics and below (as well as along the top of the card) I used a strip of Dainty Dots Die-namics, both from My Favorite Things.

I’ll be locking myself in my stamp room for most of the day (when I’m not needing to be at the pool) as I’m soooo behind on my work.  Thanks so much for stopping by today!  See you soon!

Stamps:  Stamping Bella Uptown Girl “Perry on her Laptop”   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black   Paper:  The Paper Cut Jellybean Green, X Press It Blending Card, My Mind’s Eye Indie Chic “Ginger” (6×6), Echo Park Dots & Stripes “Soda Fountain”   Accessories:  Copic markers (E00, E11, R20, E13,  E15, E18, YR21, Y19, R24, R27, YG03, YG63, E51, E41, E43, W00, W1, W3, YR0000, YR000), My Favorite Things Dainty Dots and Pretty Posies Die-namics.  Finished size 5″ x 6 1/2″.

hb2u

I’ve had one heck of a couple of weeks with swim activities and practices, company, ear infections and more, so I’m struggling to get back into the swing of things.  This birthday card has been done for quite a while.  I just haven’t had a chance to get it here on my blog.  (Way too much going on…)

Here I’ve  used a really cool new product — Mess Free Glitter (GlitterFast Design Kit) from Zoom Creative –along with several Die-namics from My Favorite Things.

I used Layered Label Die-namics on top of a Fishtail Flag STAX (with flag cut on both ends), By the Letters, By the Numbers and Simply Scallops Small.

The hb2u panel is raised on foam tape and there are foam boosters beneath the “2.”

The glittery letters and numbers were SUPER easy and 100% mess free.  (That’s the best part.  I love sparkly glitter but hate the mess.)  I simply die-cut the letters and numbers from cardstock, then again from Zoom’s double sided adhesive sheet.  I layered the sticky sheet atop the cardstock, removed the top protective sheet and placed a small square of the glitter paper over top and rubbed.  VERY cool.  (And of course, it’s MUCH more sparkly in person.)  You can see a how to video HERE.

Zoom also has lots of really cute Picture Kits for children.  (Just fyi.)  :)

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from Big Greetings and added a bit of bling.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I’m hoping to get back to more frequent posting very soon.  Have a great day!

Stamps:  My Favorite Things “Big Greetings”   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black   Paper:  MFT Replenishments “Tangy Orange” and “Whip Cream,” My Mind’s Eye “On the Sunny Side” (6×6)   Accessories:  MFT Layered Label, Fishtail Flags STAX, By the Numbers, By the Letters, Simply Scallops Small Die-namics, GlitterFast Design Kits by Zoom Creative, X Press It 1/4″ foam tape, Recollections rhinestones.   Finished size 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.

MFT VIP New Product Tour — You’re Swell

It’s time for My Favorite Things‘ VIP!  This month’s kit is titled Surf’s Up. So cute!   :)

For $33.90, you can purchase Pure Innocence Surf Chick and Surfer Dude stamp sets, Surf’s Up Sentiments mini (VIP exclusive stamp set – will never be offered for sale or be available again $9 value, FREE), Jumbo Squiggle Border Die-namics and Sentiment Strips Die-namics. You can find the new collection HERE (while supplies last).

I used Surfer Dude along with one of his coordinating sentiments, new Jumbo Squiggle Border and Sentiment Strips Die-namics, along with Circle STAX and Catch a Wave Die-namics.

I stamped my Surfer Dude onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copics.  I cut him out and placed him beneath the waves and in front of the “setting sun.”  (There’s a foam booster beneath his head to help balance the dimension at the bottom of the card.)

On the inside, I stamped a silhouette of the little guy along with another sentiment from the set.

Using just one die-cut Sentiment Strip, here’s how I very quickly and easily created the two flags for the sentiment:

Die-cut cardstock.  (I colored my white Sentiment Strip with an E41 Copic to match the papers I used.)

Stamp “You’re” on the right side.

Flip the strip and stamp “Swell” on the opposite end.

Cut the strip in half.

And you have your two flags. :)  Super quick.  Super easy.
