Today I’ve used  Forever in Bloom illustrated by Nancy McKinney for the Whimsical Wishes collection at Taylored Expressions.

I kept my card fairly simple (but I did airbrush around my image for the very first time ever.  I think this could become addictive.)

I used Simple Stories “Summer Fresh” paper, and along the bottom I placed a strip of scallops die-cut using Medium Scallop Border Taylored Die.

I used the tip-to-tip method with my Copics, pulling color from the darker blue marker onto a lighter one to shade each flower.  Then I added a bit of yellow to each bloom.

Be sure to check out what the Baker’s Dozen and guests have created today!

I’ll be back tomorrow for Taylor’s release! Thanks so much for visiting!

Stamps:  TE “Forever in Bloom”  (Whimsical Wishes)   Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black   Paper:  Papertrey Ink Kraft, X-Press It Blending Card, Simple Stories “Summer Fresh” (6×6)   Accessories:  Copic markers (B21, B28, Y21, W1, YG03, YG06, YG17, E33, E35, B0000), Copic airbrush, TE Medium Scallop Border Taylored Die, ribbon, string.  Finished size 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″.

MFT New Product Tour – I Salute You

Welcome to the My Favorite Things June New Product Tour!  You’ve been teased all week long and finally, all of the new stamps and Die-namics are available!  But before you shop, I hope you’ll take one final look at all the new products.  You can find a list of direct links to all designer posts HERE on Kim’s blog.

Be sure to leave comments as you look because the New Product Tour blog candy prize is now a $50 gift voucher to the MFT Boutique! I think that’s rather exciting! 🙂

Today I’ve used our SUPER cute new Soldier Girl from the Pure Innocence line along with Fishtail Flags STAX and new Notched Border Die-namics.

After stamping my image onto X-Press It Blending Card, I colored with Copics, then sponged and distressed the edges to go along with the distressed look of the patterned paper.  The Fishtail Flags are stitched in place at the top and left to hang loosely at the bottom for added dimension.

Along the bottom, I placed a strip of Notched Border Die-namics.  Once the front panel was fully assembled, I adhered it to my card front using foam tape.  Doing so helps the border die to stand out more prominently and adds overall dimension to the card.

On the inside, I stamped a silhouette of Soldier Girl and added a second sentiment from the set.  (I love her…she’s so cute!)

While I had all of my favorite new papers and stamps out, I decided to create a second card, this time pairing Soldier Girl with her counterpart, Soldier Boy.  (Layout is sketch from this month’s Guest Designer contest.)

Aren’t they sweet together?

I used a tab from MFT’s Mini Tabs Foursome for my sentiment, layering a navy die-cut of the tab beneath to help it stand out better against the patterns.

In the lower left corner, I placed a die-cut star from new Star STAX, adhering to the card using a button and string.

I stamped my sentiment on the inside and adhered a second star.

All of our new products are available right now, right HERE in the MFT Boutique.  Please refer back to Kim’s blog for direct links to more samples using this month’s releases.

Thanks for visiting!  Have a great evening!

Stamps:  My Favorite Things “Soldier Girl” and “Soldier Boy” (Pure Innocence)   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Desert Sand; Ranger Antique Linen Distress   Paper:  Stampin Up! Night of Navy, X-Press It Blending Card, Authentique “Glory” (6×6)   Accessories:  Copic markers (E00, E11, R20, E33, E35, E40, E41, E43, E50, E51, E53, B93, B95, B97, W00, W1), MFT Star STAX, Notched Border, Fishtail Flags STAX and Mini Tab Foursome Die-namics, edge distresser, mini brads, button, string, Copic 1/4″ foam tape.  Finished size 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.

Today I’ve used  Bikes & Trikes illustrated by Emily Burger for the Embracing Grace collection at Taylored Expressions.

This full-size set of 20 images/sentiments is packed full of cuteness!  (All cardstock –base and focal panel– is from this month’s Project Pantry kit.)

I colored my bike with Copics, then added a pretty flower in the corner die-cut using new Petal Pop-Ups 2 Taylored Die.  (One of three new die sets cutting fun 3-dimensional flowers.)  I love how the center petals of the larger flower are cut just enough to pop up  or bend around a bamboo stick as I did here.  (The petals remain attached in the center.)  Very cool.  🙂

Be sure to check out what the Baker’s Dozen and guests have created today!

Thanks so much for visiting!  I’ll be back tomorrow with another TE preview!

Stamps:  TE “Bikes & Trikes”  (Embracing Grace)   Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black Paper:  Base and focal panel cardstock from June Project Pantry kit, patterned papers from My Mind’s Eye “Nostalgia” (6″x 6″)   Accessories:  Copic markers (R17, R27, R89, BG53, BG57, E31, E33, E57, W00, W1, W3, W5), 0.25 Black Copic multiliner (ground line),  TE Petal Pop-Ups 2 Taylored Dies, button, string.  Finished size 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″.

MFT Preview Day 7 – I am Your Father

It’s almost time for the My Favorite Things June release (tonight at 10 p.m. EST)!  But first, we’re sharing one last bit of samples.  Today the team’s focus is on Die-namics from this month’s release.

I hadn’t had a chance yet to play with our new Masculine Graphic Tee.  And because there are big Star Wars fans in the house, I really had to use this sentiment.

After die-cutting the shirt, I used an R39 Copic to add the stripes around the collar and sleeves.  The stars were all die-cut using new Star STAX.

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from the set and added a strip of stars cut using Star Border Die-namics.

Here are the details about the upcoming release:

  • You can attend the New Release Party tonight from  8-10 PM EST here in the MFT forum where you can enjoy fun, games, PRIZES and the announcement of our next Guest Designer!

Taylored Expressions Preview Day 1

Welcome to Day 1 of Taylored Expressions June Sneak Peeks! I’m excited to be playing along with the Baker’s Dozen again this month!

My card for today uses Moka Betsy, illustrated by Nancy McKinney for the Whimsical Wishes collection at Taylored Expressions.

I’ve always been a big fan of the Moka line and Betsy is right up there among my faves!  She’s all decked out for the big celebration!  The set comes with Betsy, a star, a starred and striped heart plus three sentiments.  Love this set!

I colored Betsy with Copics, adding in ground/grass with pencils. I used the star and Antique Linen Distress ink to stamp a bit of a background pattern onto the kraft paper.

All papers and ribbon are from this month’s Project Pantry kit featuring American Crafts’ Let Freedom Ring Collection. (Details on Taylor’s blog here.)

On the ribbon, I threaded two star buckles die-cut using Shaped Buckles Taylored Dies.  (These are so cute!!)

Be sure to check out what the Baker’s Dozen and guests have created today!

MFT Preview Day 6 – Let Freedom Ring

It’s time to share this month’s Pure Innocence releases with My Favorite Things! I especially love this month’s PI’s.   🙂

Meet Lady Liberty.  Sooo cute.

I colored her with Copics, added ground with pencils and tucked a short strip of new Notched Border Die-namics along the left edge of the focal panel.

On the inside, I stamped a silhouette of Lady Liberty in Bamboo Leaves ink and added a second sentiment from the set.

MFT Preview Day 5 – You’re a Real Firecracker

Today the My Favorite Things team is back sharing samples using this month’s new à la modes…and they’re super-duper cute!

Here I’ve used Firecracker.  This set comes with the CUTEST sentiments. Mine is stamped on a Fishtail Flag.  (I can’t seem to stop using those.)

After stamping and coloring my image with Copics, I stamped and colored the skirt a second time, cut it out and popped it up.  The top of the skirt is glued to the paper, the bottom is raised on a foam booster.

I used a 0.25 Copic Multiliner to draw in the “ric rac”.

On the inside, I used a sentiment from Essential Sentiments.

MFT Preview Day 4 – IM URS…ARNTULUKY

Moving right along!  We’re on Day 4 of  My Favorite Things June previews! Today the team is sharing samples of two super-fun new stamp/Die-namics sets, Masculine Graphic Tee and Vanity License Plate.  I have two samples using Vanity License Plate.  SO fun.  🙂

Here I used My Favorite Cork and the tiny heart die from Notched Tag die-namics along with Simply Scallops Small along the bottom of the floral panel.

See the tiny “ARNTULUKY”?  I took that from Just the Ticket.  (I’ll show you more tiny print that you can use from that set in just a bit.)

On the inside, I stamped I♥U and added a couple of Fishtail Flags to matched those already printed on the patterned paper.

Here’s an option for a belated masculine birthday.

Again, I used the tiny “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” from Just the Ticket.

On the inside, I stamped an apology for being late…again.  SO-SRE.  So sorry.

Here were the different options I found to work on the plates using Just the Ticket. (Click photo to see larger.)  Everything stamped in red fits nicely in that small place on the plate.

I thought I’d share an easy way to align the letters (rather than stamping one at a time).  Plus this is a good way to see what fits in the given space…and what doesn’t.

Die-cut your license plate.  (If you’re using lined paper like I did, be sure to tape the die onto the paper so there is no shifting when the two go through your machine.)

Align your letters directly onto the license plate die, applying just enough pressure so the letters stick.  Be certain to lay the letters down so you can read them.

Lay your acrylic block over the stamps.

Carefully “peel” your acrylic block and stamps away from the die.  The stamps should stick to the block.

Ink.

And stamp.  🙂

MFT Preview 3 – Pretty Amazing

It’s Day 3 of My Favorite Things June previews!  Today the team is sharing samples using Clearly Sentimental about Art and this month’s Triple Scoop set, Complimentary Greetings.

Complimentary Greetings is a great set for quick and easy cards.  The sentiments are rather large and super sweet!  (Little voice whispers… “You need this set.”)  🙂

I stamped the sentiment using Colorbox brown pigment ink and layered a strip of our new Hexagon Die-namics along the bottom.

Here’s the inside.  Really simple.  (It’s a nice change.)  🙂
