It’s Party Time

Hi everyone.  I feel like it’s been sooo long since I’ve posted.  Only a week, but it seems longer.  I’ve been crazy busy but I see the light at the end of the tunnel, and that’s a good thing.

Today the My Favorite Things DT is joining forces with Buttons Galore for a super-fun hop with lots of prizes!

  • MFT will choose one random commenter from an MFT designer’s blog and award a $25 Gift Certificate.

Since I never seem to have birthday cards when I need them, I decided to use our adorable Birthday Girl from the Pure Innocence line.  Base cardstock is MFT’s Tangy Orange.

My image was stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card, colored using Copics with colored pencils for the grass/ground.  After piecing the dress, I added a bit of shadow using W1 and W3 markers.

I stitched some cute Vintage Heart buttons to the front using jute string.  While the backs of the buttons are slightly colored, the fronts are brown (wood).  I decided to use the brown sides.

On the inside, I stamped my sentiment and used two scraps of the patterned paper.

Don’t forget to check out the other participants HERE, and leave comments along the way for your chance to win one of the fab four prizes!

Thanks for visiting today!  See you soon!

  11. I love your color combinations, and the way in which you turned up the edges of your papers. The dark heart buttons really stood out, and were interestingly put together. It looks like you added some light pleats to the girls dress! Very cute. You colored, blended, and shaded the girl nicely, and I liked the turning up of the paper edges, and how you aged the paper with the girl on it. It all added to the older look of the card. Thank you for sharing.
