Sending You a Little Christmas

Hi everyone.  I have another Christmas card to share today.  🙂

I tried to keep this one somewhat simple…or at least “clean.”  🙂  I used Sending You a Little Christmas from My Favorite Things along with Rectangle STAX and Icicle Border Die-namics.  I used a tiny snowflake from Christmas Ornaments stamp set, and the little swirl on each side of the sentiment was stamped using Wild Cherry ink and Lisa Johnson’s Howdy set.

I used Couture Cardstock’s One Sheet Wonder for my card base.  Blending of Copics is not quite as nice on this paper as on X-Press It Blending Card.  But if you’re looking for a cardstock on which you can color with no bleeding to the other side, this paper fits the bill!

I’ve been admiring all of the window cards I’ve seen lately (on Pinterest), but I don’t have a window die so I faked my own.

I first cut the window from the front of my card using a rectangle die from MFT’s Rectangle STAX.  To create the window “frame,” I used the same rectangle die to cut a window from a separate sheet of white cardstock.  (I’ll call this second window Piece B.)  I then used a bigger rectangle die, centered it over the open space of Piece B, taping the die (using removable tape) to secure.  I then ran the piece through my Vagabond and I had a nicely die-cut frame.  The center window strips were cut to size and inserted behind the frame.

I cut a strip of Icicle Border Die-namics from a scrap of light blue dotted paper, trimmed it to fit the width of the window and depth of the frame and adhered before using foam tape to secure the frame to my card front.

Next, I used a pencil to very lightly mark the opening of the window so I’d know where to stamp my image on the inside of the card.

There’s room to stamp an additional sentiment in the upper left corner and room for signatures below the image.
