January Creative Challenge – Circle STAX

Hi everyone!  It’s time for the My Favorite Things Design Team Creative Challenge, a monthly feature where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product or technique. This month we were challenged to create with our Circle STAX Die-namics.  Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all participating designers who have a project to share with you today.  I have two.  🙂

My first card is …very silly.  🙂

I used Black Licorice, Sweet Tooth and Blu Raspberry cardstocks.  The eyes and smile were die-cut using Circle STAX 1 and Circle STAX 2. I used a strip of black Fresh Cut Grass to create the eyelashes.  By cutting little slits (about 1/4″ or less apart) along the flat side of the die-cut grass, I was able to bend the strip to fit the eyeballs.

From Black Licorice and Blu Raspberry cardstocks, I cut the ‘smile’ letters using By the Letters Die-namics.

On the inside, I added another (smaller) set of eyes and a sentiment from Big Greetings, stamped in Black Licorice ink.

My second card used both Circle STAX sets to create a geometric pattern.

Again, I used By the Letters for the sentiment.

On the inside, I added a strip of the pattern along the bottom and added my sentiment.

The sentiment was created using By the Letters Die-namics with Pure Innocence Poppy stamp set (partial sentiment).

Be sure to check out the MFT blog for more “circular” inspiration!

Thanks for so much for visiting today!  🙂
