Happy Easter and a Quick Tutorial on Simple Copic Pleats

Hi everyone.  🙂  It’s time for another fun sketch with My Favorite Things.

This week I’ve used new Pure Innocence One of My Favorite Peeps. I kept my card pretty simple as well as flat.  Easy mailing.  🙂

To create the sentiment piece, I used a Mini Doily Circle layered with a circle cut from Circle STAX on which I layered a Sentiment Strip.

I colored with Copics and pieced the dress, adding in quick and easy pleats.

1.  Stamp dress onto patterned paper and cut out.

2.  Lay the cut out piece on top of your stamped image.  (Do not adhere.)

3.  Using a W00 Copic marker, begin at the hem line and flick your marker up toward the center of the dress.  Here I’ve placed a pleat in between the legs and to the outer side of each leg.  (After this step, the dress can be moved from the image.)

4.  Using W1 and beginning at the hem line, flick marker up in the center of each W00 area to create depth.

5.  Using W00, again beginning at hem line,  flick over the W1 area, continuing up higher toward center of dress.

6.  Color remainder of image and adhere shaded dress.

On the inside of my card, I used another sentiment from the set and stamped a silhouette of the girl using Kraft ink.
