MFT March Previews, Day 1

Hi everyone!  It’s time to begin sharing My Favorite Things‘ March previews! Today we are showcasing Lisa Johnson’s beautiful new set, Pretty Poppies. (There are also coordinating Poppies and Leaves and Poppy Builder Die-namicssets but I didn’t use either…today.)  🙂

I feel as though I’ve “gone back to my roots” in creating this card.  When I first started stamping,  I *loved* flower silhouettes and distressing.  I think I’ve missed it.

Here, I created a background using the script stamp and Kraft ink on Whip Cream heavyweight cardstock.  The flowers were stamped in gorgeous new Electric Red ink with the stems and flowers added in Kraft.  Base cardstock is Kraft with the image panel layered atop Electric Red.

After stamping, I added some tiny brown Amuse pearls to the flower centers.

The Happy Birthday sentiment was clear embossed and finished off with an Electric Red button and Hemp Cord.

On the inside, I added a couple more poppies and used another sentiment from the set.  (I love the font combo.  Definately a favorite!)
