make a WISH

Hi everyone!  I thought I’d pop in to share the card I made for my nephew’s birthday this weekend.   I always have a tough time with teen cards but I think this one fits the bill.

I began with a base of MFT’s Wild Cherry cardstock along with a panel of Smooth White cardstock. The stripes were created using Laina’s Mod Borders along with Wild Cherry, Lemon  Drop and new Orange Fizz inks.  “Make a” was taken from the “Make a Wish” sentiment within the Birthday Sentiments set.  I was encouraged by a recent card class to cut apart my clear stamps so that’s what I did.  It made stamping the partial sentiment so much easier.  And it turned out not to be very scary at all.  🙂

I used High Rise Alphabet Upper Die-namics to cut the WISH and Stacking Stars to create the various star shapes.  The smaller orange star was cut from Orange Fizz cardstock; the rest are Wild Cherry.

A couple of the stars, as well as the letters, are popped up on foam tape. I finished off the design by scattering some tiny Amuse Star Stickers.

On the inside, I added stripes, more stars and the Wish Big sentiment from Big Greetings.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great weekend, and I’ll be back soon.  🙂
