Happy Birthday

Hi everyone.  It’s time for another sketch with My Favorite Things!  I couldn’t resist using new Cupcake Cutie once again.  I ♥ her.  I pretty much followed the sketch.  However, I substituted the balloons for the banner piece, placing the replacement behind the image instead of on top.  I also cut out my image on the left as opposed to leaving it on the panel.  That’s ok though, right? Sketches are “inspiration.”  Not law.  🙂

All stamping (for coloring) was done on X-Press It Blending Card then colored with Copics. The girl is popped up on foam tape as is the right-most balloon.

I colored two balloons with markers then used a black Copic Multi-liner and piercing template to create the dotted pattern on the third.

Once everything was colored and assembled, I dotted over the cupcake toppings with a clear 3-d glaze pen.

Along the bottom, I adhered a Cotton Candy strip of Simply Scallops Small Die-namics.

On the inside, I stamped the girl and balloon then drew in the string.

<—Here’s the sketch (which I flipped) if you’d like to play along. You can find direct links to more samples HERE.  And remember, if you upload your card to the SCS gallery using the keyword MFTWSC121, you will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money!  One winner is chosen at random each week.  More info can be found in the MFT Forum in SCS.
