MFT May Previews, Day 1

Hi everyone!  It’s time for the My Favorite Things team to begin sharing samples of the new May releases.  I have two cards today, one using a new Pure Innocence set, Make a Wish, and a second using Lisa Johnson’s new set, Peaceful Wildflowers.

For my Pure Innocence Make a Wish card, I began with a base of Nightshift Blue cardstock. I stamped my image onto X-Press It Blending Card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink then colored with Copics.

The bow, circle and horizontal strip beneath the bow are all elements found in new Blueprints 3.  I stitched a Nightshift Blue button to the center of the bow using hemp cord.

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from the set along with a silhouette of the image using Black Licorice ink.

Moving on to Lisa’s  fabulous new set, Peaceful Wildflowers, I created a very simple, one layer card using Berrylicious cardstock  and the horizontal strip from Blueprints 3.

After stamping with Versamark ink, I white embossed the flowers and sentiment. A Berrylicious button was stitched to the strip using white string.

On the inside, I embossed the sentiment to help it stand out against the blue cardstock.  The flowers were stamped in white ink but not embossed to create a softer appearance.

Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for release details and links to today’s participating designers.

Thanks for stopping by!
