MFT May Previews, Day 4

Hi everyone!  I’m back today with another preview of My Favorite Things‘ May 7 release.  I couldn’t stop using the new Happy Hellos Die-namics so I have yet another card to share using this fun die set along with new Dotted Scallop Border Trio.

Here, I layered two strips of new Dotted Scallop Border (both cut using the mid-size scallop) from Sno Cone and Nightshift Blue cardstocks.  Two “hello” dies were cut, one from Kraft and one from Razzle Berry.  I layered the two for a thicker appearance.  The left swirl was inserted into one of the scallop dots then adhered to the Kraft base.  After adhering a small Sno Cone heart (from Notched Tag Die-namics along with a few rhinestones, I felt the card still needed a little “something.”  So I found a previously stamped strip of Mod Border arrows (stamped in Razzleberry ink), cut a sliver of the strip and adhered it along the right side of the dotted scallops.

To leave plenty of room for a personal message on the inside, I repeated the dotted border layers and added a second thin strip of Mod Border arrows.

MFT May Previews, Day 3

Welcome to a third day of May previews with My Favorite Things.  I have two cards to share today, both using new Happy Hellos Die-namics.

On my first card, I used a combination of five of the six dies from the set.  I began with a base of Gumdrop Green cardstock, then die-cut hellos from Gumdrop Green, Lemon Drop, Pink Lemonade, Sno Cone and Orange Fizz.  Once adhered to a Sweet Tooth panel, I matted onto Black Licorice.  A Lemon Drop button was stitched in place of one of the o’s and then the panel was popped up on the card base using foam tape.

On the inside, I stamped “Check It Out” in Gumdrop Green ink, matted again onto Black Licorice cardstock and adhered to the inside of my card.

On this second card, I used the negative space to create my greeting, die-cut from Kraft cardstock, leaving the Sno Cone panel to show through.  Above and below the greeting, I stamped mid-size Darling Dots using Sno Cone ink.

I die-cut one strip of Razzle Berry cardstock using Wavy Edge Die-namics, placing each piece along the top and bottom edge of the Kraft panel.  I adhered three pretty pink rhinestones to finish off the front.

On the inside, I simply repeated the Kraft panel, stamping dots only along the bottom to leave room for a handwritten greeting.

MFT Previews, Day 2

Hi everyone!  It’s Day 2 of May previews with My Favorite Things.  Today we’re excited to be sharing a brand new stamp line created by one of our very own! This month Mona Pendleton kicks off her new collection with Dandelion Wishes and coordinating Dandelion Stems and Toppers Die-namics.  She also has new stencils!  I’m so excited for her.  🙂

I kept my card fairly simple, beginning with a Hot Fudge base and stamping with Hot Fudge ink onto patterned paper.  The lighter impressions of the flowers were stamped without re-inking and the sentiment is clear embossed to create a darker appearance.

Along the bottom, I stitched a few Hot Fudge buttons to the crocheted trim using hemp cord.

On the inside, I stamped more flowers onto a Whip Cream panel and added a scrap of patterned paper along the bottom.

MFT May Previews, Day 1

Hi everyone!  It’s time for the My Favorite Things team to begin sharing samples of the new May releases.  I have two cards today, one using a new Pure Innocence set, Make a Wish, and a second using Lisa Johnson’s new set, Peaceful Wildflowers.

For my Pure Innocence Make a Wish card, I began with a base of Nightshift Blue cardstock. I stamped my image onto X-Press It Blending Card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink then colored with Copics.

The bow, circle and horizontal strip beneath the bow are all elements found in new Blueprints 3.  I stitched a Nightshift Blue button to the center of the bow using hemp cord.

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from the set along with a silhouette of the image using Black Licorice ink.

Moving on to Lisa’s  fabulous new set, Peaceful Wildflowers, I created a very simple, one layer card using Berrylicious cardstock  and the horizontal strip from Blueprints 3.

After stamping with Versamark ink, I white embossed the flowers and sentiment. A Berrylicious button was stitched to the strip using white string.

On the inside, I embossed the sentiment to help it stand out against the blue cardstock.  The flowers were stamped in white ink but not embossed to create a softer appearance.
