MFT Previews, Day 1 – Hello, Pumpkin

Hi everyone! This has to be the fastest moving summer yet.  I can’t believe it’s already time to share samples using My Favorite Things‘ August release! And a fun release it is!  🙂  My card today uses one of our new Pure Innocence sets, Pretty Pumpkin.

I did a bit of paper-piecing and used lots of Die-namics — Picket Fence, Mini Wavy Pennants, Circle STAX 1 and 2 and Simply Scallops Small.

The cute PI girl was stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers.

After piecing her dress, I stamped the pumpkin face using Black Licorice ink and sponged the edges using Kraft ink. The bow was adhered in the center only to allow the sides to bend forward just enough to add a bit of dimension.

Inside, I used a scrap of patterned paper, stamped an additional sentiment and a silhouette of the girl onto Whip Cream card stock.  Again, the edges were sponged using Kraft ink.

Be sure to head over to the MFT blog for direct links to more samples, details regarding the August 6  release and info on teaser PRIZES!

Thanks SO much for stopping by!  See you tomorrow!  🙂

Praying God Sends Sunshine

Hi everyone!  I’m happy to have been able to squeeze in a Wednesday Sketch Club this week with My Favorite Things!  Still very busy with swim team…paper plate awards, BOD thank you cards… car problem, credit card theft issues, sick child.  Yes, it’s been interesting.  Anyway, all is good.  Overall.  Just crazy.  🙂

This week I’ve used Lisa Johnson’s Cheerful Blessings, Pierced Circle STAX and flowers from new Blueprints 5.

I used a base of Sweet Tooth card stock, accented with Black Licorice and Lemon Drop buttons.  The sentiment was stamped using Black Licorice ink.

Inside, I stamped a sentiment from Lisa’s Homespun Hearts and added a small Lemon Drop heart die-cut using Layered Heart Border Die-namics.

<—Here’s the sketch if you’d like to play along. You can find direct links to more samples HERE.  And remember, if you upload your card to the SCS gallery using the keyword MFTWSC134, you will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money!  One winner is chosen at random each week.  More info can be found in the MFT Forum in SCS.

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas in July, Clean and Simple

Hi everyone!  It’s time for this month’s Creative Challenge with My Favorite Things!   The MFT Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product, or technique.  This month we are celebrating Christmas in July.  I have three cards to share, all pretty clean and simple.

My first uses Jumbo Snowflake Die-namics and Clearly Sentimental about Christmas.  After die-cutting the snowflake from Sweet Tooth card stock, I adhered it to a base (of the same paper), added lots of sparkle with Star Dust Stickles and stamped the sentiment in Black Licorice ink.

Inside, I stamped a second sentiment, adding in a couple of snowflakes from Seasonal Sentiments.

My next card uses Let It Snowflake and Accent It-Celebrate Die-namics with an accent strip of Washi Pattern stamped in Kraft ink.  The clear rhinestones were colored to match using an E43 Copic marker.

Inside, I stamped a sentiment from Clearly Sentimental about Christmas using Kraft ink and added a second Washi Pattern along the bottom.

Lastly, I used By The Letter Lowercase to die-cut letters spelling “merry & bright” to create a totally non-traditional Christmas card.  The brighter letters were cut from Razzle Berry, Limeade, Orange Fizz, Blu Raspberry, Lemon Drop and Grape Jelly card stock.  Once adhered, I covered each letter using Star Dust Stickles.  The tiny Lemon Drop star was stamped from LJD On the Line.

Inside, I added thin strips of card stock along the bottom and Blu Raspberry ink to stamp the sentiment from Clearly Sentimental about Christmas.

Be sure to check out the MFT blog for more Christmas in July inspiration!

Life is Good

Hi everyone.  Happy hot, humid, HOT Saturday!  Aside from the weather, life is good.  And I adore this cute stamp from Stamping Bella.

She’s stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card, colored with Copics and die-cut using My Favorite ThingsRounded Banner STAX Die-namics.  To help define the white, I offset a second Rounded Banner cut from Wild Cherry card stock.

She’s just so CUTE.  🙂

I’m still buried with swim team events but only one more week and I’ll be sleeping past 6 a.m. daily, for the first time all summer (and NOT going to the pool every day…or twice a day).  Ahhhh…  (insert angels singing)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I’ll be back soon, and stay cool! 🙂

Giggle, Giggle

Hi everyone.  I’ve been so busy with swim team projects and events… I was in serious need of some color therapy.  So I flipped through my older Pure Innocence sets from My Favorite Things and found this super-cute Prehistoric Girl with her fun sentiments.  I began with an MFT Sketch (130) but ended up with something totally different. Not unusual for me.  🙂

I stamped the image onto X-Press It Blending Card, colored with Copics then die-cut with Heirloom Label Die-namics.

She’s framed with Steel Blue card stock along with a strip of Kraft stamped in Kraft ink using LJD Spring Backgrounds.  The little bone is from Halloween Charms, tied with Hemp Cord.

Inside, I stamped the silhouette in Kraft ink and the sentiment in Black Licorice.

I’ll be back soon!  Thanks for stopping by!

MFT July Release Rewind, Day 1

Hi everyone!  Today and tomorrow the My Favorite Things team is taking a moment to revisit this month’s new releases (all available right HERE).  Since I didn’t have a chance to use Lisa’s new Bitty Banners set, I’ve created two cards using that set along with a couple other new products.

For my first card, I’ve used Bitty Banners along with Bitty Banners Die-namics and LLD Accent It – Celebrate.  I’ve used Wild Cherry card stock and ink along with Black Licorice card stock and ink with a background of Sweet Tooth.

Inside, I stamped a few more banner flags.

My second card uses my latest favorite MFT color combo – Wild Cherry, Berrylicious and Banana Split card stock.  The “happy” flag was stamped using Wild Cherry ink and die-cut using Bitty Banners Die-namics.  The boat was created using Jumbo Banner Day STAX (cut two different sizes of triangles in half to form sail) along with Simply Scallops Small “waves.”  “Birthday” was stamped in Versamark ink and white embossed.

Inside, I stamped a second flag in Wild Cherry and added a few more Berrylicious waves.

Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for direct links to more July Release Rewinds.

MFT July New Product Tour

Hi everyone!  Welcome to My Favorite Things‘ July New Product Tour! Tonight I’m sharing four cards, two using Doodle Garden Take the Plunge and two with a greater focus on new Pierced Circle STAX.

On my first card, I used Doodle Garden Take the Plunge along with Pierced Circle STAX for the sentiment “panel.”  I die-cut two Wavy Edge Die-namics strips to create water, placing the waves over the girl’s feet.  Hemp cord was wrapped around the wavy strips several times and tied.

Inside, I stamped the girl again, using Black Licorice ink, and added a sentiment from Pure Innocence Gymnast.

Next, I used Take the Plunge along with a Pierced Circle “sun.”  As above, my image was stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copics.  I used Gumdrop Green card stock as the base.

Inside, I stamped the girl in Gumdrop Green ink and stamped a sentiment from Pure Innocence All Occasion Sentiments in Black Licorice ink.

On the first of my Pierced Circle cards, I combined a Pierced Circle with layers of Circle STAX 1 and 2 (with a layer of foam tape between the Black Licorice and Orange Fizz circles).  Flowers were die-cut using Blueprints 5, Orange Fizz and Banana Split card stock.  A Black Licorice button finishes off the center of each flower.

I added another Blueprints 5 flower inside along with a second sentiment from Birthday Greetings.

On my last card, I used several sizes of Pierced Circles with Electric Red, Berrylicious and Banana Split card stock.  The sentiment is from Lisa’s new Birthday Greetings and is stamped in Black Licorice ink.  My Mind’s Eye Enamel Dots add just a bit of dimension.

I added some Pierced Circles inside as well and stamped a second sentiment from Birthday Greetings.

Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for direct links to samples using all of the new products which are now available right HERE.
