Monthly Archives: September 2013

Hello

Hi everyone!  It’s sketch time with My Favorite Things!  This week I didn’t *totally* follow the sketch, but it was a great starting point…which I guess IS the point.  🙂

For my card this week, I combined Doodle Garden Sweet Friend with Pierced Circle STAX and Blueprints 7.

After stamping the image onto X-Press It Blending Card, I colored with Copics then die-cut the circle.

The sentiment was die-cut using an element from Blueprints 7 with hemp cord tied around the base of the word.

Inside, I stamped a second sentiment from the set with a partial image, stamped in Hot Fudge ink, die-cut using Pierced Circle STAX and Circle STAX 1.

Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details for this week’s Stamp Club.

Thanks for visiting!

Love Muffin

Hi everyone!   I was recently browsing through Facebook during one of my daughter’s cheer practices when these super-cute, new Tiddly Inks digi-images caught my eye.  I can’t totally blame Jenny Peterson as I had also seen some samples by Kim O’Connell.  Both super-talented ladies.  But seeing Jenny’s…after seeing Kim’s… I *really* wanted to color these cuties.  (It also doesn’t help that I’m a sucker for chef and coffee images.)  So yes, I did a bit of shopping.  Thank you, Jenny.  And Kim.   🙂

My card today uses Bake Me Some Love.

She’s printed onto X-Press It Blending Card, layered atop a black pattern from Pebbles Walnut Grove with a base of My Favorite Things Black Licorice card stock.

Up in the corner, I tied a little muffin tin charm.  As an afterthought, I decided to adhere a tiny heart into one of the tins.  The heart was die-cut using MFT’s Fluttering Hearts Die-namis and Wild Cherry card stock.

That’s it for today.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  I’ll be back soon!

hi, friend

Hi everyone!  I actually had a bit of time to squeeze in something, just for fun. My card today uses a past sketch (MFTWSC139) from My Favorite Things along with Wendy Burns Designs Stylish Friends.

I used new Olive heavy weight card stock along with Factory Green and X-Press It Blending Card (for my Copic markers).  The small flags were cut using one of the elements from Blueprints 6 with a Simply Scallops Medium strip along the side.   I added an Olive button, adhered with Hemp Cord to finished off the front.

I continued the sentiment on the inside of the card to finish the greeting.

Thanks for stopping by.  I’ll be back soon!

Happy Fall

It’s time for another sketch challenge with My Favorite Things!   This week I decided to use an older fall Pure Innocence set, L’il Pumpkin.

She was stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card, colored with Copics and die-cut using Pierced Circle STAX.  I matted her onto a Hot Fudge circle cut using Circle STAX 2 and adhered a sentiment cut using Sentiment Strips 2.

Factory Green dots from LJD Darling Dots were stamped onto Factory Green card stock and Hot Fudge textile print from LJD Spring Backgrounds was stamped onto Kraft card stock.

Inside, I used leftover strips of the stamped patterns along with a Whip Cream panel stamped with a second sentiment from the set and silhouette stamped in Kraft ink.

Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details for this week’s Stamp Club.

Peek-a-BOO (x 2) – Creative Challenge

It’s time for this month’s Creative Challenge with My Favorite Things!  The MFT Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product, or technique.  This month we were asked to incorporate any of MFT’s “peek-a-boo” dies into our cards or projects.  I have two to share.

I adore the little spider from Paper Bag Peek-a-Boos, so I decided to frame him (and his friends) using Peek-a-Boo Squared.

I used a base of Black Licorice card stock with Black Licorice ink used to stamp Darling Dots onto an Orange Fizz square.  I cut the dotted square using the Peek-a-Boo Squared die, then cut another from Black Licorice cardstock.  The black square was set into the opening in the dotted square with the whole panel raised on foam tape.

The spiders were cut, lines were drawn (using a 0.5 black Copic Multi-liner) and then each spider was set into the circles, adhered only in the center so legs will bend forward.  The little Boo was stamped from Spider Web Sentiments and matted to create a “sign.”

Inside, I stamped another sentiment from the Spider Web Sentiments, added another little spider and used a leftover strip of dots along the bottom.

On my next card, I again used a Black Licorice base, this time pairing it with a panel of Limeade card stock.  I die-cut a strip of Peek-a-Boo Dots, adhered thin strips of Orange Fizz, Limeade, Grape Jelly and Banana Split to the back and adhered across the top.  BOO letters were cut using High Rise Alphabet Uppercase Die-namics.  The spider was die-cut from the green so the black shows through.  (Peek-a-boo.)  🙂

Tip:  To perfectly align the spiders eyes, I placed tiny dots of glue on the back side of each eye before removing the die-cut spider from the green card stock.   As I carefully removed the spider, I used a pin to gently press each eye onto the black base.  Super easy.  🙂

I used the same technique on the inside of the card.  I die-cut the spider from the Limeade panel and carefully adhered the eyes before removing the die-cut spider.  The string was added using a Copic Multi-liner and the sentiment, also from Spider Web Sentiments, was stamped in Black Licorice ink.

Thankful for Family

Hi everyone!  Time for another great sketch from My Favorite Things! This week I used super-cute, new Pure Innocence It’s a Sign.

The image was stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers, edges sponged with Kraft ink.  The sentiment, raised on foam tape, was stamped onto a die-cut quote strip from Blueprints 7.  I had some Fall Foliage leftover from yesterday’s project so I put them to good use, tucking them beneath a Brick Red button, stitched to the panel using hemp cord.

Inside, I stamped the image again, this time including the XOXO sentiment from Pure Innocence All Occasion Sentiments.

Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details for this week’s Stamp Club.

MFT September New Product Tour

Hi everyone!  Welcome to My Favorite Things‘ September New Product Tour! Tonight I’m sharing a card using new Doodle Garden Happy Harvest.

The image was stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers.

The gingham, from Textile Backgrounds, was stamped onto Smooth White card stock using Wild Cherry ink.  The zig-zag pattern was stamped using Orange Fizz ink on Orange Fizz cardstock.

Inside, I stamped a partial silhouette of the image using Kraft ink and added a strip of gingham leftover from the front.
