MFT May Previews, My World is Brighter

Hi everyone!    I’m back today with another sample of MFT‘s May release. Today I used SUPER fun new Lightbulb Die-namics with Watt’s Up? stamp set and a bit of Blueprints 15.

I found the perfect shiny piece of silver card stock in my stash, die-cut a panel using Blueprints 15 and adhered to a Sweet Tooth base.  I wasn’t sure how well the sentiment from Watt’s Up? would stamp onto the shiny surface using Black Licorice Hybrid ink…perfect!

After die-cutting the various lightbulb elements, I added a bit of shine using a Wink of Stella clear glitter brush.  The light “rays” were cut using the negative pieces from the “screw” element of the lightbulb.  (I love that heart-shaped filament!)

Inside, I stamped a sentiment from Sending Thanks, added another punched strip from Blueprints 15 and a second heart filament.

MFT May Previews, Hope to See You Soon

Hi everyone!  Welcome to another day of MFT May previews!  Today I’ve used Pure Innocence Can’t Wait to See You with new Small Brick Wall Stencil.

I stamped the image onto X-Press It Blending Card using Black Licorice Hybrid ink then colored with Copic markers.  I stamped the sentiment then sponged Natural ink through the Small Brick Wall Stencil, using lighter motions closer to the image and sentiment.

Tiny flowers were cut from Lemon Drop card stock using Trellis & Vine Die-namics and adhered using mini black brads.  After rounding the corners, I adhered the stamped panel to a Sour Apple base using foam tape.

Inside, I stamped a second sentiment from the set and just the girl, without the window, at the bottom.

MFT May Previews, You’re Fin-tastic

Hi everyone!  I’m back for another day of the MFT May Release Countdown. Only four days to go!  🙂

Today I’ve used Fishbowl Die-namics along with Rectangle Frames and Blueprints 15.

This set was such fun!  I began with a Berrylicious panel cut using Blueprints 15. After adhering a Berrylicious Rectangle Frame with foam tape, I assembled fish cut from Orange Fizz, Sweet Tooth and then Black Licorice (just for the tiny eye).  The seaweed was cut from Gumdrop Green with tiny bubbles cut from Sweet Tooth.  Lastly, I added some enamel dots and a white lined border.

Inside, I adhered additional die-cut elements and a sentiment from Happy Graduation.

MFT May Previews, You’re a Class Act

Hi everyone!  I’m back today with another preview of My Favorite Things‘ May 13 release!  (Only five more days!)  Today I’ve used new Suit & Tie Die-namics with Pinstripe Background.  (Super-fun die set!)

I stamped the Pinstripe Background onto Black Licorice card stock then die-cut the body pieces of the suit.  The lapels and buttons were cut from plain black. Shirt (and base) are Sweet Tooth with an Electric Red tie.

I created an extra little “pocket” and hankie by cutting a small rectangle from Black Licorice for the pocket.  To create the hankie, I cut two shirt color pieces and the knot part of the tie, layered and cut off the bottom to fit the pocket.

Inside, I stamped and die-cut the sentiment using Journal It Head of the Class and Accent It Labels & Tabs, hanging a tie beneath.

MFT May Previews, Let’s Hang Out

Hi everyone!  Welcome back to a second day of May 13 release previews with My Favorite Things!  Today I’ve used our new Birdie Brown stamp set, Let’s Hang Out.

I created my scene by first stamping the tree and tire swing onto X-Press It Blending Card using Black Licorice Hybrid ink.  I colored with Copics, then die-cut the girl shape using Let’s Hang Out Die-namics, stamped and colored.

The grass was stamped using Jellybean Green and Factory Green inks.  The thin vertical strip, as well as the sentiment flag, were cut using Blueprints 2.  Base card stock is Sweet Tooth with an accent of Cotton Candy.

Inside, I stamped the tire swing and grass, then drew a line across the top using a 0.3 black Multi-liner.

MFT May Previews, Sea Life

Hi everyone!  It’s time to begin previews of MFT‘s May release!  Today I’ve used Lisa Johnson’s Sea Life with coordinating Die-namics to create two clean and simple “everyday” cards.

First I die-cut the fish and fronds (I’m calling them fronds 🙂 ) from Smooth White card stock, then stamped in Sour Apple and Berrylicious.  The fronds were adhered over Natural sand and the fish is raised on foam tape. After adhering, I added a light sheen to the die-cut pieces using a clear Wink of Stella brush.  (Hard to capture in a photo, but it’s a nice, subtle shimmery sparkle.)

Inside, I stamped the fronds and fish again.

Next I created a simple thank you card, adding in a Grapesicle coral.

Again, I added a soft sparkle to everything.

A simple finish to the inside:

Congratulations, Amiga

Hi everyone!  Today I have a card to share using stamps and dies from the latest Paper Smooches release.

I used the Congratulations die along with parts of  Retro Arrow with amiga stamped from the Southwest Charm set.

I cut two black Congrats, layering together for a thicker appearance, and cut two Retro Arrows, one black, one white.  I kind of played around with the pieces until I had something I liked.  Lastly, I added a few gold enamel dots…just because.  Pretty quick and easy.  🙂

I love the pop of the Blu Raspberry card stock with black and white.

I’ll be sharing Paper Smooches on Mondays, and maybe some other days as well. I’ll surprise you.  😉

Thanks for stopping by today!

Friends Like You are Far and Few

Hi everyone!  When I saw this week’s sketch with My Favorite Things, I instantly had an idea I wanted to try.  (That doesn’t always happen!)

I pulled three different Pure Innocence sets, placing a face in each circle.  I used Sassitude, Being Cute is What I Do and Farmer Girl with a sentiment from Grand Greetings.

I’ve grown to love the combo of Blu Raspberry, Tangy Orange and Banana Split. To add a bit of interest, I adhered some enamel dots and placed a strip of Simply Scallops Medium along the bottom.

The little faces were each stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card, colored with Copic markers and die-cut using Circle STAX 1 and 2.  I cut two Banana Fishtail Flags to place behind the circles, using just the tail end of the second flag to create a longer appearance.  (The cut line is behind the last circle.)

Inside, I stamped the faces again and added a sentiment from Sassitude.

Here’s the sketch if you’d like to play along.  Details can be found on the MFT Blog.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great weekend!

Additional info – Copic markers:  E00, E11, R01, BV000, Y21, E31, E35, BG10, BG13, BG18, YR04, YR18, YR30, YR14, YR24, E37.  Finished size 6 1/2″ x 5″.

On my card today, I’ve used Southwest Charm, which was especially fun since I recently visited Tucson.  Lovely, oh-so-warm, oh-so-sunny Tucson.  Ahhhhhhh. Oh sorry, back to the card.  🙂

The cacti were stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card then colored with bright Copic markers to match the patterned background.

To create the sparkly sun, I ran a punched circle through Xyron’s 1 1/2″ Mini Sticker Maker then pressed the glitter into the sticky side of the circle.  Super easy!  I also used the sticker maker to apply adhesive to the back of the thin orange “ground” line (created using PS Borders 1 Wise Die).  No sticky stuff of any kind seeping out from the sides.  Love it.  The outer circle of the sun was created using a PS Scalloped Circle Wise Die.

Thank you so much for hopping!  I can’t wait to see for myself what the DT has created.   I’m sure they’re all amazing!  (I still can’t believe I’m stamping along with Kim’s super-star team. I am so honored.)
