Hi everyone!  Just popping in today with a quick and easy card with treat.  I was going to post this on Halloween, but then I thought you, too, may want to create your own bag of spider poop, a.k.a.  Nestle Buncha Crunch (theater box).  🙂

I used Trick or Treat stamp set designed by Miss Tiina for My Favorite Things.  The images and sentiment were stamped onto Steel Grey card stock with Sweet Tooth ink then white embossed for a chalkboard sort of look.

Inside, I stamped the spider and web, again embossing in white.

For the bag topper, the word “spider” was taken from one of the sentiments in Trick or Treat, stamped using Sweet Tooth ink then white embossed.  The POOP letters were die-cut with Negative Dot Alphabet Die-namics and Sour Apple card stock.  Pinstripe Background was also white embossed.  (I used Post It tape to mask off the words before stamping.)

Hi everyone!  It’s time for another Creative Challenge with My Favorite Things. This month we’ve been asked to use cork sheets to craft cards and projects you’ll want to stick a pin in for inspiration you’ll turn to over and over.  MFT’s line of Die-namics cuts such a wide variety of materials, why not cork!

My first card uses Falling Leaves, Words of Gratitude Die-namics and Square STAX 2.

After die-cutting the cork, I cut the leaves from Jellybean Green, Orange Fizz, Lemon Drop and Electric Red card stock.  “Thankful” was cut from Chocolate Brown with the “for you” stamped in Chocolate Brown dye ink using Gift Card Greetings II.

Inside, I stamped a sentiment and leaf from Fall Foliage using Chocolate Brown and Natural inks. 

On my second card, I used cork to create a cork board appearance.  “Grateful” was die-cut from the cork and “so very” was stamped onto a Fishtail Flags Layer using Thankful Thoughts and Kraft ink.  

A die-cut Fall Foliage leaf was airbrushed using Copic markers then “tacked” onto the board with an enamel dot.

Inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Thankful Thoughts with a little leaf and trail at the bottom.

thankful for you

Today the MFT Team is back with another installment of Organization for Your Creative Space.  This time we’re sharing our button and ribbon storage solutions.

Buttons and ribbons are tools of the trade when it comes to adding those finishing details to our projects and packages but they can quickly overwhelm us in volume and sheer number of color, shape and size options.  

Let’s tackle the buttons first.  🙂

MFT buttons are are sold in a quantity of 3.5 ounces which fit perfectly in Ikea’s RAJTAN spice jars.  They’re sold in packs of four for just $3.49.

I label each jar by simply peeling the color label off the button packaging.  I trim the ends and adhere to the bottoms of the jars.  The labels look as if they are curling up on the ends but they are not.  That is just the shape of the jar.

They’re functional and pretty.  🙂

I have my ribbon in a couple different locations.  Most of it is found, organized by color, in plastic drawers located just below my buttons.  I haven’t bothered to label each drawer as I can see through to the colors inside.  But looking at them now, I think they’d look better with a label.  🙂

I have two drawers of MFT ribbon, each card labeled with the ribbon color. (They are all handwritten as I didn’t own a label maker at the time.)

On a shelf to the left, I have a ribbon carousel where I keep my crocheted/lace trims and a jar for scraps.

To the left of that, I have another ribbon storage “cabinet.”  

I keep the doors securely closed to prevent this from becoming a big cat party.

Hi everyone!  I’m back today with a card using this week’s sketch with My Favorite Things.  (And if you happened to see my accidental sneak peek of an upcoming post, I’m sorry about that.  I really should not use the computer so early in the a.m.!)

Today I decided to try something new. I embossed panels of Insulation Pink, Smooth White and Pink Lemonade using Proof  Positive Cover Up then die-cut the embossed pieces using Square Grid Cover Up.  I love the look.

I used Beautiful Baby stamp set for the sentiment and adhered a large Insulation Pink button.

Inside, I adhered an Insulation Pink elephant, die-cut using coordinating Beautiful Baby Die-namics and added a second sentiment.

The other day, I was browsing Pinterest and came across the cutest paper pumpkins.  Today I’m sharing my MFT version.  (They were very easy to make.)

I embossed Factory Green, Brick Red and Safety Orange card stock using Swiss Dots, Small Checkerboard and Fishnet stencils.  I cut the card stock into eleven 1″ strips then punched a hole in each end.  I used my Crop-a-dile so I could punch about six at one time.  I stacked all eleven pieces then threaded brown ribbon through one end and tied a knot for the stem.  I inserted the other end of the ribbon through the holes on the bottom, pushed the card stock up (so the pieces bowed), then secured ribbon through the hole using a brad.  Fan the strips and decorate!

I used Factory Green, Brick Red and Safety Orange ink to stamp Fall Foliage onto leaves die-cut from X-Press It Blending Card using Fall Foliage Die-namics.

Once stamped and cut, I adhered the leaves to the top of the pumpkins using dots of Glossy Accents.

Lastly, I cut thin strips of Factory Green card stock and curled each around a Copic marker.  (Anything small and circular works.)

I have three cards to share tonight, all using Birdie Brown’s new Jingle All the Way.

On my first card, I stamped the Santa onto X-Press It Blending Card, colored with Copics and adhered a string of bells to his finger.  (He’s jammin’.)  Across the top, I added a strip of Plaid Background Builder using Electric Red and Steel Grey inks, topping off with an Electric Red button.  The scalloped border is from Blueprints 19.

The string was dyed using a Copic maker and the bells are stitched in place with a dot of Glossy Accents for added stability.

Inside, I added a bit of leftover plaid, sentiment and image.

On my next card, I used Jingle All the Way stamp set with coordinating Die-namics, Stitched Square STAX and a scalloped “awning” from Blueprints 8.  The top (pink) layer was cut from X-Press It Blending Card and colored with a Copic marker to match colors used in the image.

On the tree, I adhered tiny pink gemstones. 

Inside, I added a tiny star, die-cut using Blueprints 8 and colored with a Copic marker.

The sentiment idea on my last card was taken from the Jingle All the Way stamp set, but I wanted the letters more pronounced so I die-cut them from Electric Red card stock using High Rise Uppercase Alphabet and Negative Dot Numbers Die-namics, highlighted in a Speech Bubble Frame.

To create the snow, I used Snowfall background,  stamped in Sweet Tooth ink then white embossed.

To create the smaller frame, I die-cut the shape once, then taped the die-cut bubble back into the die, adjusting the position so the top was recut to the desired height.  (Clear as mud?)

I stamped a second sentiment and image inside, again using Sweet Tooth ink and white embossing.
