You’re Spec-tacular

Hi everyone!  I’m trying to get back into the swing of things here after a whirlwind Christmas, which started with half the house reeling from a vicious stomach virus.  I think we’re finally done with all of that.  Thanks to Lysol, Vitamin C, greens, LOTS of hand washing and a little luck for not allowing that nastiness to get to my son or myself.  *shudders*   Along with a couple of simultaneous near catastrophes, I’m happy to start a new week, even though I’m now WAY behind on things. Stay focused…stay focused…  🙂

I have a cute “nerd” themed card to share today using Paper SmoochesIncognito stamp set with Glasses dies.

Youre-Spectacular-500-2

I cut the glasses from bright and cheery Razzleberry, Limelight, Grape Jelly and Lemon Drop card stock then added a tiny Swarovski crystal to each corner of the pink glasses.  The crystals are super-sparkly but hard to capture in a photo.

Super simple.  🙂

Thanks for visiting today!

Flip Flop Caught a Bug

Hi everyone!  I’m back today with another Craftsy tutorial.  This time it’s all about the Flip Flop card.  When the sides are pulled apart, the center panel flips to reveal a message (or “inside” of the card).  This fancy fold seems intimidating but I believe I’ve simplified the process.

I used Paper Smooches Healthy Vibes and Healthy Vibes Icons.

I hope you’ll check it out, and let me know what you think HERE.

Thanks for looking!  🙂

Monochromatic – Two Ways

Hi everyone!  If  you celebrate Christmas, I hope you had a very nice one yesterday. If you don’t celebrate, then I hope you had a nice day anyway.  🙂

On the Craftsy Blog today, I have a tutorial on creating monochromatic cards using two different methods – HERE

On my first card I used beautiful new Wild Wisteria and Peaceful Wildflowers stamp set, both from My Favorite Things.

Miss-You-500

Inside, I used a leftover border strip from Pretty Poppies with additional monochromatic Peaceful Wildflowers.

Miss-You-InMy second card, with a second technique of monochromatic color, uses Grand Greetings and Moroccan Tile Trio Die-namics.

Thinking-of-You-500

A super easy finish to the inside includes a die-cut strip from Blueprints 3 and a simple sentiment from Pretty Poppies.

Again, you can find all details with step-out photos HERE.  Thanks for checking it out!  🙂

Happy Christmas

Hi everyone!  I wanted to be sure to take a moment to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and to share a card using one of my favorite holiday sets from MFT, Pure Innocence Happy Christmas.

Happy-Christmas-500r

As always, she’s stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copics. The card base is beautiful new Tropical Teal card stock.  ♥

A second sentiment from the set is stamped inside as well as a partial image stamped in new Tropical Teal dye ink.

Quick and Easy Last Minute Packaging

If you’re like me, you still have lots of gifts to wrap and very little time to do so. On the Craftsy blog today, I have some quick and easy ideas for last minute packaging, all using items you most likely already have on hand.   From brown bags and white dollar store boxes to plain gift card envelopes, dress them up in no time with just a few ordinary supplies.

Here’s one idea you will find on the Craftsy blog.

Holiday-3

I stamped a plain white dollar store box with cute reindeer from My Favorite ThingsChristmas Cuteness stamp set using Chocolate Brown ink.  I added a pretty bow and created a simple matching tag, adding a little red rhinestone to the deer’s nose.  (Ribbon from the dollar section at Michaels.)

I hope you’ll check out my post, and if you have a moment, please let me know what you think there on the Craftsy blog.    Thanks!  🙂

you’re aDORKable

Hi everyone! Just wanted to pop in to share a card using one of Paper Smooches‘ latest releases, Incognito.

I added nerdy glasses, as well as little eyelashes, to Chubby Chum Pal bear (stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copics.) Once colored, I added Glossy Accents over the glasses for a bit of realistic reflection.

Michele-Incognito2

I also added in her hand a daisy from Blossoming Buds.  The stem was extended using a black Copic Multi-liner.

MFT December Creative Challenge – Warm and Fuzzy Felt

Hi everyone! It’s time for another Creative Challenge with My Favorite ThingsThis month we’re using warm and fuzzy felt.

I created a Mini iPad cover using Flower Medley and Royal Leaves Die-namics and a card to match.

Ipad-mini-cover-500b

The flowers and leaves were cut from Orange Fizz, Blu Raspberry, Banana Split, Paver Red, Sour Apple and Jellybean Green Felt, attached to Kraft.  Thank goodness I still had a ton of embroidery thread left from my cross stitch days.  A large Chocolate Brown button holds the iPad securely inside.

It’s not perfect, but I like it.  🙂

Ipad-cover-CU2

The card is very similar, using Kraft card stock and a sentiment from Cozy Greetings.

Sending-You-Warm-Thoughts-500

My favorite is the Orange Fizz flower.  After die-cutting the longer petal flower, I folded it in half, stitching in place to secure.

Sending-You-Warm-Thoughts-CU

Inside, I used parts of two sentiments to create one (both from Cozy Greetings) and added a strip of x’s from Blueprints 20.

love will keep us warm

Hi everyone!  I have a super cute snowman to share today.  He’s from Paper SmoochesWarm Hearts stamp set (which now has a coordinating set of dies).

Michele-Warm-Hearts-Dies2

After die-cutting the snowman and ornaments, I stamped with MFT’s Black Licorice hybrid ink and colored with Copic markers.  The snow line was created by die-cutting an edge with Borders 1.  I re-taped the die just below the initial cut and ran it through my Vagabond one more time.  Perfect little snow line!

Michele-Warm-Hearts-DiesCU2

The sentiment was stamped with MFT’s Black Licorice dye ink then clear embossed.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I’ll be back tomorrow with a fun “different” kind of project.  Hope to see you then.  🙂

Additional supplies/info:  Copic markers (C00, C1, C3, BG10, Y32, YR23, YR27, R29, R39), clear embossing powder, string.  Finished size 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.

Happy Birthday Smart Phone

Hi everyone!  Just popping in quickly with a birthday card I created for my son a few weeks ago.

Cards for boys are always a challenge for me, especially teen boys.  I decided to go with the cell phone theme, since his is never far from him.  😉

HB-Smartphone-500I used Smart Phone Die-namics (♥) along with Friend Request and Delicious Birthday stamp sets from My Favorite Things.  The background was stamped with Happy Birthday text background using Berrylicious ink.  Speech bubbles were stamped in Sweet Tooth pigment ink and white embossed.

HB-Smartphone-CU

Inside, I used a leftover strip of text background and stamped a sentiment from Delicious Birthday.  (All stamps and dies designed by Laina Lamb.)

HB-Smartphone-InThanks for stopping!  Have a great day!

happy holidays

Hi everyone!  TGIF!

I purchased a few Stamping Bella images a while ago and wanted to be certain to use this one before the holidays.  I ♥ her.  (Actually, to put it into perspective, I love all the Uptown Girls.)

Happy-Holidays-UG

I kept my card simple.  Savannah Has a Star is stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card, colored with Copics then adhered to a base of Sweet Tooth card stock.  I adhered thin strips of “sparkle tape” I picked up at Five Below.   I only bought one roll of gold, thinking it might not stick to anything. Turns out I love it and now wish I’d bought more.  (Of course it’s all sold out at this point.)

Happy-Holidays-UG-CU

She’s so pretty.  🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I’ll be back soon!
