Bokeh over Watercolor (a tutorial)

Hi everyone!  I’ve been playing around a bit with different watercolor techniques and decided this is definitely one of my favorites!

I created a bright watercolor background then added different sizes of white dots. It’s super cool (I think). 🙂

Finished-wcbokeh

I dropped vibrant pink and yellow inks onto wet watercolor paper, then tipped the paper to allow the inks to mix in some areas, creating bright spots of orange mixed in with the pink and yellow. Once dried, I sponged circles of white pigment ink over to create a bokeh appearance.

I die-cut and adhered “wishing” from Simon Says Stamp‘s Sending & Wishing and white embossed the remainder of the sentiment. The small arrow and heart were cut using Paper SmoochesTiny Hearts Dies.

If you’d like to try this technique, you can find a step-by-step tutorial HERE on the Craftsy blog.

Farm in a (Shadow)box, a tutorial

Hi everyone!  I shared a sneak peek of this card the other day when I announced I’m  joining the Taylored Expressions Creative Team.  (Still super excited about that!)

Shadowbox

As previously mentioned, I created a farm scene inside a shadowbox using TE’s Green Acres stamp set.

There is an accordian fold on each side of the card with die-cut frames adhered in each fold. The individual elements are adhered to each frame, creating loads of depth, and it folds flat for mailing.

You can find a step-by-step tutorial for creating shadowbox scenes HERE on the Craftsy blog. It’s a cool concept.  🙂

Shadowbox

I created a shadowbox style card using Green Acres. I’ll have a tutorial posted in just a couple days and will provide more info then.

Dang, really?

A crown is all fun and games until a cracked tooth is involved.  I can speak from experience as I have two crowns and I wear neither on my head.  Not fun…at all.

To create my cracked tooth card, I used Paper SmoochesTooth Fairy dies along with Slang Gang sentiments.

Dang Really 3

I used my scissors to cut out a thin “crack” from the tooth. The tiny x’s (hugs, because if you need a crown, you probably also need a hug or two), are die-cut using a die from  Stitched.

Dang Really 2 CU

Thursday morning brings the Paper Smooches June release hop!  See you then!

you’re awesome. i agree.

Hi everyone. I hope you’re enjoying your weekend.  I’ve been busy creating samples for upcoming releases, two current and something new.  🙂  I’ll reveal that very soon, but I thought I’d let you know I have several days next week when I’ll be posting twice a day. It can’t be helped, and I hope you don’t mind. Lots happening, all at once.  (It’s fun and I love it.)  🙂

Today I’ve used a super cute new-to-me stamp set by Mama Elephant called Three Amigos. I only used two today but I’m sure the third will not feel left out for long. This set is too cute to ignore.

You're Awesome

I love that each little friend holds a sign.  After stamping onto X-Press It Blending Card and coloring with Copics, I stamped the sign portion again and popped that portion up on clear foam squares.

You're AwesomeCU2

Toooooo cute!!! I want more tiny words!  (Maybe a few snarky ones would be fun. I think so! haha.)

Thanks for stopping by today. I will be back tomorrow  (and many times thereafter).  Have a great day!
