Taylored Expressions October Sneak Peek – Roly Poly Rudolph

Today I’m sharing a sneak peek of Taylored Expressions‘ October release which takes place Thursday, October 1st at  7 a.m. PST. Sooo many cute products!

Meet Roly Poly Rudolph.  He works great as a tag or card, or as the front of a little treat box.  The 3″ circle in Stitched Circle Stacklets works perfectly as a bsae for Rudolph. (I used a 3″ non-stitched circle.)

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Here’s a peek at the inside of the tag, stamped with new Special Delivery stamp set. There are several choices of sentiments, perfect for all those holiday gift tags!

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I adhered a second assembled Rudolph to a 2″ square treat box (with no lid). Here’s the basic pattern I used. If you’d like a 2″ square box like mine, start with a 6″ square of card stock.  Score at 2″ and 4″, turn and score again at 2″ and 4″. Remove “most” of the outer corner squares, leaving small flaps, as shown, for assembling the box.

Eep! He’s so cute! 🙂

A Couple of Paper Smooches Sneak Peeks

Today I’m sharing two cards using stamps and dies from Paper Smooches‘ upcoming release. All new product will be available September 30th at 8 p.m. pacific time (right here).

My first card uses super cute Comforting Hugs stamp set. This little monkey is so adorable, snuggling with his banana. haha.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

After stamping onto X-Press It Blending Card, I colored with Copic markers then masked the banana and stamped greenery from Botanicals 3. After stamping the tiny hearts, I added Glossy Accents for a bit of dimension and shine.

Copic: E71, E74, E77, Y18, Y35, YR23, YG07

My second card uses new Large Ornament and Merry Christmas dies. The ornament dies cut the top and bottom edges so you’re able to create any length ornament.

Merry-Christmas-Lrg-Ornament-500

I used a Waves die to create the white scallops and tied silver embroidery thread onto the die-cut loop. Merry Christmas was cut twice, first from white, then from green, then stacked for a bit of added dimension.

Such a great release! Two more days until all sets are available (here)!  🙂

Today I’ve created a White Elephant party invitation using new Tis the Season stamp set and dies as well as new Garland dies.

Tis the Season is a great holiday set which includes a variety of cute images and sentiments for different holiday party themes, i.e. white elephant, ugly sweater, cookie exchange and more. *adorable*

White-Elephant-500

The Garland dies are designed to fold in half, creating an easy dimensional effect. The set contains a circle, which I’ve used here, as well as a more traditional triangle. I used my new favorite tape runner by Xyron to hold the banner pieces firmly in place.

The White Elephant sentiment actually contains the word “Party” at the end, but I chose to use brackets (which I drew in myself) instead.

The elephant was stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers. Just a bit of coloring on this one, super easy. 🙂  Once colored and die-cut, I popped the elephant up on X-Press It 1/2″ foam tape. I used a 0.3 black Copic multi-liner to draw the ornament strings and a Kirarina Wink White Pearl pen to add the dots and stripes.

Copic markers: BG11, R29, R59, R89; white pearl Kirarina Wink

C’mon Get Happy (Taylored Expressions)

Sometimes a clean and simple card is all you need. To create mine today, I used a few of the latest releases from Taylored Expressions. I’ve paired a pattern from TE’s Hello Happiness paper pack with C’mon Get Happy stamp set and the prettiest little flowers, Mini Bloomers.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I *love* these small flowers.  I die-cut multiple pieces from Potato Chip, Granny Smith, Lollipop, Sugar Cube and Cupcake card stocks.  Once I had all the pieces in a pile on my table, I began assembling, and once assembled, I added dots using a White Pearl Kirarina Wink pen.

After stamping the sentiment, I added a bit of color using Copic markers.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I tipped up the flower petals just a bit then adhered each flower to a Skinny Mini Party Border.

Cmon-Get-Happy-In3

I had a few flowers left over and just couldn’t waste them, so I decided to adhere each to the inside of my card.

Thanks so much for visiting.  🙂

I am so sorry (Paper Smooches)

Today I’m sharing a quick and easy card using a few different products from Paper Smooches‘ September release. Apologies is this month’s TAM (Thanks a Million) set, which means it’s free to you with any $60 retail purchase through the end of September. It’s a great sentiment set with a wide assortment of apologetic phrases.

Michele Boyer - Paper SmoochesI used “I am so” from Apologies, new Sorry Word die and flowers from Needle Little Love Icons dies. The leaves were die-cut using Foliage 2, and the tiny cross-stitches are from Stitched dies.

In other Paper Smooches news,  I hope you’ll come back Thursday for our October release blog hop! 🙂

oh em gee!

Hi everyone and welcome to another Bellarific Friday with Stamping Bella! This week’s challenge was an inspiration photo, which you can find on this post.  It’s bright, it’s bold and it’s vibrant!

I’ve pulled bright colors and the couch from the photo, using Uptown Girls Beatrice and Barbara are Besties.

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

I stamped the image onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers. I used bright inks and my MISTI to easily stamp the multi-colored sentiment from Slang Gang by Paper Smooches. (A quick tutorial for that can be found at the bottom of this post.)

Oh-Em-Gee-CU-2

Next week’s challenge is a sketch:

It’s Been Such a Zoo Around Here

Yes, it really has been a zoo around here. Three weeks into school, and I already have a sick kid. Those germs are kicking in early this year.

In between running up and down the stairs, I managed to create a quick sample for this week’s challenge with Taylored Expressions. (You can find the TE Challenge Blog here.) There is an option to follow a sketch, a Tic-Tac-Toe of items to include on your card, or both. Since I had (very) limited time, I stuck with the sketch.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I used Wild About You with coordinating dies to create a clean and simple zoo-ish card. The animals were colored with Copic markers, and I used a different color ink to put emphasis on the word ZOO in the sentiment.
