Celebrate on Christmas Morn (Taylored Expressions)

Today I have a quick and easy, clean and simple card. I used beautiful new Holly embossing folder and In & Out Christmas stamp set from Taylored Expressions.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I popped up the embossed panel and cut a thin border to frame the circular opening. I just love the crispness of the embossing. So pretty. 🙂

hope your birthday is unforgettable (color throwdown)

Hi everyone.  Today is my last post guesting for Color Throwdown. I’ve had such fun creating along with the CTD gals. I’ve always loved seeing individual interpretations of challenges and this one was no exception. SO much fun! I thank them for having me this past month.  ♥

This week’s color inspiration was brought to us by Joan. She selected rust, aqua and gray, another new favorite color combo for me.  🙂

CTD366 swatch

I’ve used one of WPlus9‘s adorable elephants from Unforgettable.

Michele Boyer - WPlus9

My little elephant was colored with Copic markers and the balloon and bow were paper-pieced from Basic Grey’s Hipster 6×6 paper pad. I do believe I’m addicted to Paper Smooches‘ little cross stitch dies from Stitched. I’ve been putting them on everything it seems.

Copic markers – W00, W1, W2,W3, E08, E09, R00, R0000

You can find all details  for this week’s challenge on the Color Throwdown blog where you can also link your project.  I hope you’ll play along!

For more color inspiration, be sure to check out the  CTD girls’ blogs:

A big thank you again to the CTD team for having me! This was so much fun.  🙂

Need hugs? (paper smooches)

Today I have a clean and simple shaker card using one of Paper Smooches latest releases, Comforting Hugs.

Need-hugs-500--Rev

After stamping and coloring with Copics, I used the coordinating Comforting Hugs icons die to die-cut the image then adhered it over a shaker full of Tiny Hearts. The small stitches (hugs) were die-cut using Stitched Dies.

Coloring Faces & Hair with Copic Markers

I love to color all things, but if you’re a regular here on my blog, you know people are my favorite. There’s just something about bringing life to a face or figure. Boy or girl, young or old, it doesn’t matter. I, of course, have my way and style of coloring, but I love to see how others do the same. And I’m always up for learning something new!

for-you-final-with-book

I was so excited to get a copy of Copic’s Coloring Faces & Hair by Marianne Walker (published by Imagination International). As soon as the book was in my hands, I immersed myself in every word. The book is packed with info on coloring simple as well as complex images, different skin tones, styles of hair, no hair (bald heads), eyeglasses (which I found very interesting), and more. This is my favorite of Copic’s books to date.  *I highly recommend.*

Follow along below to see how I’ve colored the hair and skin on Saturated Canary‘s Ava. (I’m not sure if the image is still available as I don’t see it listed in the store.) Continue reading

Stamping Bella introduces STUFFIES

Stamping Bella has a brand new BIG release coming Monday, November 2nd and previews started yesterday! Check out THIS post to see how STUFFIES were born. They have stolen my heart.  ♥  By leaving a comment on each of Em’s preview day posts, you will have a chance to win one of the featured images.

One of today’s previews includes new Honey Bears Stuffies. Absolutely adorable. I love the sentiment too. So sweet (and true). That Winnie the Pooh is one smart fellow.

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

I colored my Honey Bears with Copics, adding a subtle blue haze around the image.  Coloring one area at a time, I used BG10 close to the stamped lines then immediately blended those edges with BG70. With the Colorless Blender, I used small circular motions around the outermost edges of the blue to achieve a subtle blend into the white.

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

Copic markers – E31, E33, E35, E37, E44, E79, R01, R02, Y23, YR23, YG13, YG25, G94, B21, B23, B45, BG10, BG70, N0, N1, N3, Colorless Blender

Ho Ho…Ho (Taylored Expressions)

Today I am sharing two rather silly cards. Each uses new Holiday Grumplings from Taylored Expressions. I am not (normally) a grumpy person, but these characters speak to me (haha) and I so very much appreciate the humor. 🙂

I first created hills with Doodlebug’s Frosty Friends 6×6 paper. The bottom hill is raised on Kool Tak clear foam squares for a bit of added dimension.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

The Grumplings were die-cut from X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers. The two in the front are popped up on foam tape. See the moose? That’s me about a week into the holiday season after returning from shopping. THAT is when I get grumpy.

The sentiment is stamped from In & Out Christmas. I omitted the exclamation points and added the dots…because these guys are not enthusiastic.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Copic – BG11, E08, 09, E31, E33, E35, E37, E41, E43, E84, E87, R81, R83, R85, YG11, YR14, 110

Next, I paired the half jingling Grumpling with half a tree from On the Line North Pole Cutting Plate.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I adhered some Little Bits Snowflake Confetti and popped the fox up on foam tape. (He cracks me up.)

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Copic – BG11, E50, E53, E87, R81, R83, R85, R89, Y28, YG11, 110

Thanks for visiting today! Ho, ho…ho.  🙂
