I’m Nuts and Bolts About You (paper smooches)

I don’t know what it is about robots. They’re just so…cute.  And charming. My card today uses one of Paper Smooches‘ most recent releases, Boom Bots. These guys (or girls) make me smile.  🙂  The set includes two robots (a girl and a boy), a robot dog, nuts and bolts and loads of quirky robot-ish sentiments. Super fun!

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

I used Copics to color then adhered a small heart-shaped enamel dot to each. Beneath the robots, the tiny strip of stripes adds just a bit of pattern to the mix.

Thanks for stopping by today! I’ll be back soon.  🙂

Revisiting the One Sheet Wonder

If you’re like me, you probably have a sheet (or twenty) of patterned paper tucked away somewhere, unused. Why not put it (or them) to good use with the One Sheet Wonder, an oldie but goodie technique that provides patterned pieces for use on a set of cards.

Michele Boyer - Simon Says Stamp

To create this entire stack of cards, I used Simon Says Stamp’s Sending & Wishing stamp set and dies with Hero Art’s Stamptember exclusive Prayers stamp set and die and one 12″ x 12″ sheet of Recollections’ Pink Roses patterned paper (from Michael’s). The only extras required are card bases and matting (card stock) for the patterned pieces. I love the results, but even more so I love having a stack of pretty all occasion cards on hand to send at a moment’s notice.

Michele Boyer - One Sheet Wonder

I put pencil to paper and created a template that resulted in 14 QUICK and EASY cards. I really don’t know why I didn’t think to do this sooner. Imagine how quickly you could create a set of holiday cards!

Michele Boyer - One Sheet Wonder Card Sketches

On the Craftsy Paper Crafts blog today, you can find larger photos of my One Sheet Wonder template and corresponding card sketches as well as tips for creating your own One Sheet Wonder and keeping all those pieces organized.  I hope you’ll check it out and give it a whirl! I know I’ll be using my template again soon!

Especially for You (Stamping Bella & new X-Press It Adhesives)

TGIF! I’m so happy it’s Friday, and even happier that it’s time to finish decorating and turn on the Christmas lights! So exciting!

This week the Stamping Bella team is sending holiday wishes. I’ve used my favorite (so far) of Stamping Bella’s holiday images, Tiny Townie Ellie the Elf. She has a coordinating Cut It Out die but I didn’t use it today.

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

After stamping onto X-Press It Blending Card, I colored with Copic markers then added scattered white dots to a couple of the gifts using a White Pearl Kirarina Wink pen.

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

Copic markers – E00, E11, E31, E35, E37, E40,E42, E43, G07, G09, G28, R01, R02, R81, R83, R85, RV32, W00, W1, W2, Y21; Kirarina Wink White Pearl

To adhere the wooden snowflake, I used my new “go-to” adhesive, Clear Gel Glue from  X-Press It. Clear Gel Glue works perfectly with wood, paper, cardboard, leather, metal, foam, broken ornaments (hmmmm) and more.

1-liquid-glue

Here’s a bit more about it:

  • 4.25oz (It will last quite a while!)
  • Acid-free
  • Non-toxic
  • Flexible
  • Thick gel
  • Dries clear
  • Strong grip
  • Water-based
  • Low stringiness
  • Excellent holdout
  • High solid content
  • Extra-fine applicator
  • Professional quality adhesive
  • Fast drying on porous surfaces

To adhere the super sparkly Swarovski crystal to the center of the snowflake I used an X-Press It Fine Glue Pen. The tip looks just like a pen, which is perfect for applying dots or thin lines of adhesive.

Also available are a Medium Glue Pen as well as a Wide Glue Marker. Here’s a look at the tips. (Great variety of tips to have on hand!)

thanks (paper smooches)

Hi everyone!  Today I’ve combined several of Paper Smooches‘ latest releases to create a clean and simple heartfelt thanks.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

I die-cut a handful of small leaf branches from Bookplates dies then added small circles from the flower center (also from Bookplates). I eye-balled the heart shape, and tied on a small tag from Gift Tags 3. “Thanks” is from this month’s Thanks a Million set, Natural Beauties (free with any $60 order through November 30).

happy birthday to you (stamping bella)

Hi everyone! It’s time for another challenge with Stamping Bella! Last week’s challenge was a sketch (my favorite). I could not WAIT to ink up one of the new Stuffies!

I used new Leo the Balancing Stuffie with the sentiment from Sanford the Birthday Boy Stuffie. I didn’t really have a spot to accommodate the sentiment so I repeatedly stamped the birthday message to create a partial background for the image.

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

I colored with Copic markers then cut around the lion’s tail before die-cutting the oval shape. Doing so allowed his tail to extend past the border.

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

Copic – BG13, BG78, E15, E31, E33, E35, E41, E42, E43, E59, R01, R02, W00, W1, W3, W5, W7, Y17, Y21, YG03, YG17

Next week’s challenge is to create a holiday wish. Super easy.  🙂  Create a card using any current Stamping Bella image. Then email your card to Emily by next Thursday to be entered to win some Bella Bucks!  (All challenge details can be found HERE.)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

thanks friend (paper smooches)

Hi everyone! I’m back today with another clean and simple design, this time using Paper Smooches‘ TAM (Thanks a Million) stamp set, Natural Beauties. This set is available for purchase OR free with any $60 retail order through the end of November.

Michele Boyer - Paper Cuts

I stamped the cute little wreath in dark brown ink, colored in the leaves with a Copic marker then added tiny dots of pink and white using Kirarina Wink pens. I punched a hole near the top inside of the wreath then threaded string, dyed brown with a Copic marker.

Michele Boyer - Paper Cuts

Copic – BG13, E29 (string); Kirarina Wink White Pearl and Strawberry Ice

Inside, I stamped a sentiment from Many Thanks along with a tall thin flower and tiny bird from Natural Beauties.

Happy New Year (Taylored Expressions)

Hi everyone! Today I have a super quick, clean and simple card using new Happy New Year die from Taylored Expressions.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Before die-cutting, I adhered a panel of Sugar Cube card stock to an adhesive sheet, then die-cut the two together with my Big Shot. Having the “sticky stuff” on the back of the die-cut piece made adhering it to the shimmery silver card stock so very easy.

Once adhered, I placed a few clear rhinestones in the loopy ends of the words then adhered a few thin strips of card stock along the side. So quick, so easy and oh so shimmery!

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I’ll be back tomorrow! Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

Merry Fitness & a Happy New Rear

Hi everyone! I’m popping in today to share a fun(ny) card I created using a few sets by Paper Smooches.

I’ve paired Santa and the reindeer from Santa Paws with a drink from Sugar Rush and fun sentiment from Holiday Cheer, each die-cut with it’s coordinating die.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

Once colored and die-cut, Santa was placed in the window of a Polaroid frame. I love the expression on the reindeer’s face.  I believe he’s glad that spinach smoothie (or whatever) is for Santa and not himself. haha.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

Copic markers – BG11, E00, E11, E31, E33, E35, E40, E42, E43, G19, R24, R29, R89, W1, W2

Thanks so much for visiting today!  🙂

Missing You and Sending Smiles (Paper Smooches)

Hi everyone.  🙂  Today I am sharing two cards using new Sweet Escape stamp set and dies by Paper Smooches.

My first card includes the stamp set along with the dies to create a rural scene.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

I added a bit of texture with the double row of stitching and wooden button, and one of the tiny clouds and the deer are both raised on clear foam squares.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

Copic markers – E35, E43, G07, YG17

Using the same stamp set, I’ve created a totally different look by simply stamping the city scene and coloring with gray Copics.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

The Tiny Heart, die-cut from red, adds a simple pop of color.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

Copic markers – C1, C5

I’ll be back soon!  Thanks for stopping by today! 🙂
