Long, long ago, before stamping/paper crafting entered my life, I was obsessed with cross-stitching. I still have many DMC threads, each organized in its own labelled zipper baggie, hanging on a silver ring. I loved it. When I learned Taylored Expressions was releasing the Stitch by Stitch stamp set and Embroidery Hoop dies, the two quickly moved to the top of my “must have” list.
I used my MISTI to stamp the different areas of color within the image. By masking off one portion at a time, the MISTI guaranteed perfect alignment.
Inks: MFT Electric Red, Ripe Raspberry, Green Room, Chocolate Brown, Kraft, Daffodil; Ranger Antique Linen
To create the background, I used a ruler and a Copic marker (E50), dotting along in equal increments. I also used a Copic (W1) to add tiny dots along the outer edges of x’s to create just a touch of shadow.
