So Thankful (stamping bella)

Hi everyone! Thanks for visiting today! (How is it the end of September already??)

It’s time once again for a challenge with Stamping Bella. This week we created with the inspiration photo found at the end of this post. Lots of bright fall color! I chose to use one of my favorites from Stamping Bella’s latest release, Autumn Loves Autumn. I ♥ her. (You can see all of the latest release HERE.)

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

After coloring the image with Copic markers, I die-cut a few stitched rectangles, stamped the sentiment in chocolate and orange inks, and added a few cross-stitches using linen thread.

thank you (paper smooches)

Hi everyone.  I hope you had a nice weekend. 🙂  Today I’m sharing a pretty quick and easy card using Paper Smooches‘ new Arrows dies with Thank You die. (You can see all of Paper Smooches’ latest releases HERE.)

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

I die-cut the arrows and thank you from a woodgrain patterned paper from Simple Stories’ Bloom & Grow (6×6), then cut the arrow ends from patterned papers in the same paper pack. I stitched each over its corresponding arrow then bent the sides up toward the center.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

I added a scalloped border die-cut using a Waves die and tied a double thickness of hemp cord along the side. “Mwah” was stamped in chocolate ink from Smooches stamp set, and the flowers in the lower right corner were already printed on the paper.

Thanks so much for visiting today. I hope to see you on Thursday for Paper Smooches’ October release hop!  🙂

Ho Ho Ho (stamping bella)

Hi everyone! It’s time for another challenge with Stamping Bella. This week we created using the {Mojo}Bella sketch found at the bottom of this post.

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

I stamped super cute and adorable new Santa has a Prezzie onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers.

Shadows and Shading - A Beginners Guide to Lighting Placement

To determine highlight and shadow placement, I used the linear light guide from Marianne’s Shadows & Shading book.

Ho-Ho-Ho-book-grid

As mentioned in this post, the guides are great for helping to determine placement of highlights and shadows. (The linear light guide is especially helpful in creating cast shadows.)

Ho-Ho-Ho-grid

Marker can be applied directly onto the reusable guide to determine shading and shadow as well as highlights. Use a dark marker to indicate shadows and a brighter marker to indicate highlights. If the stamp comes with a pre-colored image, it can be very helpful to use that pre-colored image as a guide for placing the dark and light marker. Then, as you are coloring your own image, the clear guide can be repeatedly laid over your image as a visual guide in coloring. Marianne does an outstanding job explaining the process in the book. Once finished, hand sanitizer and a paper towel can be used to quickly wipe the placement guide clean.

Give Thanks (taylored expressions)

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing a super fun handful of coordinating die sets from Taylored ExpressionsDoor to Door, Roof, Molding, and new Door to Door Fall Decor.  It’s fun to build your own home sweet home entry on a card.  🙂

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

My favorite elements are the molding and the wreath. I also like that the basic door set comes with little rectangular pieces to add dimension to the door. So many fine details.  🙂

The sentiment was stamped from Peek-a-boo Pumpkins and attached to the roof with tiny brads.

Love Birds (paper smooches)

Hi everyone! Today’s card features this month’s TAM (Thanks a Million) set, Feathered Friends, available to you for FREE through 9/30 with any $60 retail purchase from Paper Smooches.  I also used coordinating Feathered Friends Icons dies as well as new Heart Frame. (You can see all of the latest releases here.)

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

The frame was die-cut from white card stock and sponged with Toffee ink. For a bit of variation, I concentrated more ink at the bottom of the frame, leaving the top a bit lighter. The birds were stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers. Before adhering to the white card stock panel, I inlaid a couple of Curly Clouds, taking care to keep the tiny pieces intact. Once the frame was adhered, I used Kool Tak clear foam squares to adhere the birds atop the hearts. Kool Tak squares are somewhat thin and perfect for adding just a touch of dimension.

I’m Pretty Awesome (stamping bella)

Hi everyone. I can’t believe it’s Friday already. Way too much going on around here. Anyway, Friday means it’s time for another challenge with Stamping Bella. This week  we created our own backgrounds.

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

I used a scalloped die-cut strip, light blue ink and a blending tool to create a sky. Peering into the clouds is Tiny Townie Amanda is Awesome, colored with Copic markers. Isn’t that sentiment cute? ♥  And how about those Pippi Longstocking-ish pigtails? (I’m probably showing my age. Someone, please tell me you remember Pippi. Haha.)

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

Copic markers – BG10, BG11, BG45, BG49, BG53, C00, C1, C3, E00, E11, E31, E33, E35, E57, E59, G21, G24, G85, Y17, Y32

Hi everyone! I’m back today sharing a card using new Bold Balloons stamp set and coordinating dies from Taylored Expressions. It’s great for creating quick and easy birthday/celebration cards, and I love the sentiment within the strings!

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I also used new Pink Champagne and Mint Julep inks (as well as Lollipop). The colors coordinate perfectly with Hello Happiness 6×6 paper pack.

You Light Up My World (paper smooches)

Hi everyone.  I’m super busy today so this will be a bit short. Today I have a card to share using Paper Smooches‘ new Super Star dies. I paired the stars with Power Rays, Chubby Chums and dies and a sentiment from Summer Sampler.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

I thought it would be cool to turn the Power Rays die on it’s side to show beams shooting from the large star. The owl was colored with Copic markers, and the sentiment was white embossed.
