celebrate (paper smooches)

Hi everyone!  Today I’m sharing a card using new Party Balloons dies and Celebrate Word die from Paper Smooches latest release. You can find all of the new stamps and dies HERE.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

After die-cutting the balloons, I colored each with a Copic marker, overlapping the common areas to achieve the overlaying colors. The Celebrate word die was colored with Copics as well. I found the word easiest to color before removing the die from the surrounding card stock.

Copic markers – B00, B000, R83, Y11

To finish my card, I adhered some super shimmery star sequins. Pretty quick and easy!

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Thanks (Queen & Co. Heart Throb Kit)

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing my first card as a new Queen & Company. design team member. I cannot express how honored I am to be a part of this talented team. (Seriously.)

My card today uses the new Heart Throb kit. I did not have much experience at all with creating shaker cards until I began using this kit. Queen & Co. makes the process so incredibly easy. And the contents of the kit? So. Much. Fun.

Thanks-Shaker-500 Feb 12

Here is everything that is included:

Heart Throb Kit

The kit is currently $5 off AND free shipping! I am so addicted to the paper pad. (And just FYI, you can buy a refill paper pad as well as foam/acetate pieces. How nice is that?)

Thanks-Shaker-CU-500 Feb 12

How about those tiny toppings (shaker pieces)? Oh my gosh, SO cute! There are also tiny diamonds. Who doesn’t like diamonds?  They’re so sparkly!  I am a forever fan of this kit. ♥ You can be assured you will see more from me. I adore it!

Thanks so much for visiting!

Happy Mail (stamping bella)

Hi everyone! Welcome to another Bellarific Friday with Stamping Bella! Today I used one of my favorites, Tiny Townie Lacey Has a Letter, from Stamping Bella’s latest release. (You can find all of the new images/dies HERE.)

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

This week we were to create using this sketch as inspiration:

Feb 10

I flipped it and shifted just a couple things (which is A-ok)! 🙂

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

Copic markers – BV000, B21, B23, B95, C00, C1, C2, E00, E01, E11, E27, E31, E35, E59, R20, R39, R89, Y21, Y32

I stamped her onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers. Specific markers are listed above, below close-up photo.  I love her hair the best. So very easy to color!  Just a bunch of dots!

For next week’s challenge, we need to include a die in our design. Again, so easy! Use any current Stamping Bella image then email your card to [email protected] by next Thursday to be featured on the SB blog and to be entered to win some Bella Bucks! (All challenge details can be found HERE.)

Taylored Expressions February Release, Blessings and Prayers

Hi everyone! I hope you’ve enjoyed the Taylored Expressions‘ February release previews over the last several days. You can find everything, now available, HERE. Before you head over to the TE store, I have two more samples to share.

My first card uses new You’re in My Prayers and Spring Florals stamp sets along with new Ornate Frame Cutting Plate, Prayers Script die and Spring Florals dies. I think they all work beautifully together.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

The flowers and leaves were stamped in Potato Chip, Lavender Glaze and Granny Smith inks, with Prayers and cutting plate cut from Toffee card stock. I truly love the Prayers Script. 🙂

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Once assembled, I added a handful of Sugar Cube enamel shapes.

Next, I used new Bloomin’ Background, So Very Blessed stamp set and Blessed Script.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Bloomin’ Background was stamped onto Toffee card stock with Sugar Cube ink then white embossed and colored with Copic markers.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Copic markers – R83, RV55, Y15, YG05, YR04

To achieve a perfect color match for the Blessed die, I die-cut the word from Toffee card stock then colored with the same Copic markers I used on the red flowers.

A Copic Facebook Event (and free line art)

Hi everyone! I wanted to let you know about an event on Facebook this Friday, February 10. From 2-3 p.m. PST Chihiro Howe, illustrator/Manga artist, will be live on Facebook. It’s a great opportunity to learn the basics of Copic blending and ask questions of a Copic expert.  You can join the event HERE.  Also at that link, you will find free Valentine art for coloring, one Manga style as well as the image I’ve colored below.

Both images are available in red and black line art. I printed the squirrels in red onto X-Press It Blending Card. (The red on my printer actually appears more brown.)

Copic Valentine Art (free download)

Aren’t those squirrels sweet? I love that one is offering a flower. The other may or may not share the nut. 😉

I used my MISTI to place the sentiment (from Stamping Bella‘s Uptown Girls Belinda & Bernadette the Bench Buddies).

Copic Valentine Art (free download)

Copic markers – E31, E33, E35, E37, G21, G24, G07, R20, R83, RV32, W00, W1, Y21, YR23; Copic 0.03 Brown Multiliner

Once colored with Copic markers, I used a brown 0.03 Copic Multiliner to draw a border around the colored panel.

Again, you can find the event info and links to the free artwork HERE. Don’t forget to click “JOIN!” It’s like a free class!

Enjoy, and thanks for visiting!

Easter Peeps and Pollen, Taylored Expressions February Previews

Hi everyone! It’s Day 3 of Taylored Expressions‘ February release previews! All new products will be available for purchase tomorrow at 7. a.m. PDT (10 a.m. EST).

Today I am sharing my favorite (of my samples). I absolutely adore this new Peek-a-Boo Easter set. Along with the coordinating dies, I also used new Little Bits Pocket.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

How sweet is that lamb? I love him/her.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Copic markers – E40, E41, E42, E43, R20, Y23, Colorless Blender

After die-cutting the pocket from Sugar Cube card stock, I colored the pieces with Copic markers then lightly pressed over with a scrap of fabric saturated with Copic’s Colorless Blender.

I used Peek-a-boo Easter once again along with new TE Enamel Shapes.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I lightly blended a bit of Salt Water Taffy ink in the center, then used an Egg Stacklets die as a guide for placing the heart enamel shapes.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I very lightly traced around the die, adhered the hearts then erased the pencil line.

Lastly,  I used new Spring Grumplings. We have lots of spring allergies here so I especially like the Sneezin’s Greetings sentiment.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions I used Build a Scene Trees, the sun from Build a Calendar, flowers from Little Bits Easter Confetti and a Stitched Rectangle Stacklet.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Copic markers – BG10, E18, E31, E33, E35, R27, RV14, Y18, Y38, YG07, YR18

Poor critter.  🙂

Faith in Bloom, Taylored Expressions February Previews

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing a couple more cards using Taylored Expressions‘ February 9 release products.

My first card uses previousy released Faith in Bloom stamp set with new Faith in Bloom coordinating dies.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I first created a watercolor background using Scattered Straw, Cracked Pistachio and Worn Lipstick distress inks.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Copic markers – BG32, C1, C2, R81, R83, R85, Y11, Y32, YR23

I then stamped the flowers and colored with Copic markers. The sentiment was stamped in Sugar Cube ink onto Oreo card stock and white embossed.

Next, I used My Redeemer Lives with a corresponding die.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I stamped the cross and sentiment in beautiful Delicata Gold Glitz ink. No embossing is necessary. It’s shiny and just lovely on its own.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

In the background I used new Redeemer Embossing Folder.  (The gold card stock peeking out on the left and right sides of the embossed panel is from Michaels.)

Spring is in the Air – Taylored Expressions February Preview

Hello everyone! Welcome to the first day of Taylored Expressions‘ February 9 release previews! Today I’m sharing two cards. My first uses lovely new Spring Florals with coordinating dies.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I stamped the flowers in Lavender Glaze and Strawberry Milkshake inks with the wreath stamped in Granny Smith ink. In the flower centers I placed new Taylored Expressions Enamel Shapes.

enamel-shape-graphic-small

I’m excited about these shapes for several reasons. There are currently 12 colors, all of which perfectly match TE card stock. Each set includes various sizes of dots, hearts and stars. The shapes add just the perfect amount of dimension without being “too” round or thick.  🙂

For a limited time, earn DOUBLE CRAFTY POINTS on our Enamel Shapes! If you’re not a Crafty Points member, it’s free and easy to join. Just create an account at the TE webstore and you’re automatically enrolled to begin earning crafty points with every purchase. Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Once my wreath was assembled, I wrapped a bit of gold twine then adhered over card stock embossed with Brick Embossing Folder.

Next, I used new Bloomin’ Background with a sentiment from Simply Said – Spring.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I first stamped the background using Cupcake ink then colored with Copic markers.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Copic markers – E51, E53, E55, G24, G43, R000, R00, Y00, Y32, YG61, W00, W1

Chocolate? Oui Oui! (stamping bella)

Hi everyone! It’s time for another challenge with Stamping Bella! This week’s challenge was free form meaning “whatever we wish.” So easy.  🙂  I used February’s stamp of the month, Uptown Girl Catherine Nibbling Chocolate. She’s 20% off through February 28!

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

Along with the image comes the sentiment, “You overwhelm me with awesomeness.” Today I decided to use “Oui Oui” from Slick Chick, minus the question mark at the end because really, with chocolate, there is no question. It’s always a yes, yes for me.  🙂

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

Copic markers – E00, E01, E11, E31, E35, E59, R01, R59, R83, R85, RV32, W00, W1, W2, Y21

She was stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers.

Next week’s challenge is to create using the following {Mojo}Bella sketch. Flip it, turn it, substitute shapes. It is for inspirational purposes only.  🙂

Simply use any current Stamping Bella image then email your card to [email protected] by next Thursday to be featured on the SB blog and to be entered to win some Bella Bucks! (All challenge details can be found HERE.)
