You Are My Sunshine (stamping bella)

**Paper Smooches Release Blog Hop can be found HERE.**

Hi everyone! Welcome to another Bellarific Friday with Stamping Bella! This week I’ve used Tiny Townie Rachel Loves the Rain. I just love her outfit and the heart shaped puddle. Too cute.

We were to use this sketch for inspiration:

April 28

Along with the umbrellas, I (kind of) used the color scheme. My purple turned out quite a bit darker, and I used a lot less orange/red. But close! 🙂

Kirarina 2win Oil-based Pens

Today I did a bit of playing around for the first time with Kirarina 2win oil-based pens. Being oil-based, they stick to most any surface, i.e. paper, photos, glass, plastic, cloth, etc. (although they are not dishwasher safe).

Thanks-a-Lot-K2Win-500

These double-ended pens are available in a wide range of 34 vibrant colors as well as black.  The colored pens feature two different colors, one dark and one lighter, each with a medium round nib. The black pen features the same color on both ends but one side has a medium round nib and the other has a fine nib, perfect for detail work or finer journaling.

Kirarina-2win-markers

You can see the nib sizes above. All are round except the one end of the black which holds a fine nib.

Kirarina-2win-with-cactus

I found the color to be quite vibrant, even on this somewhat darker cork paper. I used the black to fill in any tiny areas of the stamped image where  my ink may not have covered completely. It worked perfectly.

Thanks-a-Lot-K2WinCU-500

On the cork paper, I was able to color very easily, leaving a smooth, solid layer of color. I did not need to go over any sections more than once. (On surfaces such as glass, the darker colors will show better.) After coloring, I used a toothpick and Copic Opaque White to add some dotted highlights to the design.

On the Imagination International, Inc. website you can find the Kirarina line of product to include the 2win oil-based pens, 2win fragrant pens, WiNK pens and Cute Puff Paint pens as well as inspiration for each. I hope you’ll check it out! 🙂

thanks so much (paper smooches)

Hello everyone.  Today I have a card to share using another of Paper Smooches‘ new pineapple dies. I also used new Thanks So Much word die.  I think they are the perfect combination for quick and easy cards.

Paper Smooches pineapple thanks card

The pineapple was cut from white card stock with the top portion cut again from a light green dotted paper.

I filled only the top then laid the sentiment over, choosing to use the negative area of the word “so” for added interest. So easy. 🙂

I hope you’ll visit again on Thursday as the Paper Smooches DT will return with May’s release blog hop.

Thanks for visiting today!

Happy Happy Birthday (stamping bella)

Welcome to another Bellarific Friday with Stamping Bella! Last week’s challenge was to create a birthday or celebration card. I can never have too many birthday cards on hand so this was a welcome challenge.

Stamping Bella Milton

Milton, who comes with the sentiment used on my card, is ready for the party! I colored him with Copic markers, then added a sprinkling of Queen & Company’s rivets in red and yellow.

Coloring Cats & Dogs with Copic Markers

I turned once again to Copic for assistance in coloring animal fur.  The instruction included in Coloring Cats & Dogs with Copic Markers is actually helpful in coloring most any animal. The book covers different types of fur (i.e. long, short, straight, curly), colors, etc.

Coloring Cats & Dogs with Copic Markers

I had a little chuckle in using the tips listed to color this long-haired cat. Poor Milton. 🙂  I used light feather strokes from the outside edges of Milton’s face in toward the center, leaving much of the white card stock uncovered as highlights.

Next week’s challenge is to use this photo for inspiration:

More Washi Tape Fun (queen and company)

Hi everyone! I’ve been having lots of fun with Queen & Company‘s latest release! On the Queen & Company blog today I have two cards using some of their new washi tape.

Thanks-a-Super-Lot2-CU-500

I also used my favorite butterfly die from Butterfly Shaker Kit.

Hello-You-CU-500

You can find more details as well as supplies used on the Queen & Company blog. Thanks for visting! 🙂

thank you for your hospitality (paper smooches)

Hi everyone! Today I have a quick and easy card to share using Paper SmoochesPineapple 1 die and washi tape.  I love this little pineapple! 🙂

Paper Smooches pineapple hospitality card

I only used the outline of the pineapple, die-cut from white card stock then colored with markers. I applied three strips of Yellow Dot washi tape across the paper then adhered the cute pineapples over top. Before securing the pineapple top on the right, I tied a bit of yellow twine around one of the leaves.

Prior to stamping the portions of sentiment onto black card stock, I brushed the card stock with a powder tool to help keep stray specks of embossing powder from sticking where I didn’t want them. I then stamped using white ink and white embossed the words.

Friends are Flowers (stamping bella)

Hi everyone! It’s another Bellarific Challenge Day with Stamping Bella! This week I used one of my favorite of the Tiny Townie Garden Girls, Rose. I adore her curly hair and striped tights. Sooo sweet.

Here’s the sketch we were to use as inspiration:

April 14

I stamped her onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copics.

Let’s Make a Scene (taylored expressions)

Hi everyone! I’m back today to share a card using Little Bits from Taylored Expressions. It’s so much fun to build scenes with all the pieces!

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I used the Little Bits Castle, Carriage and Frog to make an anniversary card for my husband, not that he was ever a frog. But I will say he is a prince and I will keep him as long as he’ll put up with me.  Haha.

I used the frame from Build a Scene Calendar 5 x7 with a Cloud Border sky in the background. Build a Scene Rolling Hills provided grounding and I used a sentiment from All You Need is Love.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I cut extra frog eyes from shiny gold card stock and used those dots to embellish the castle, carriage and lower right corner of the frame.

Thanks so much for visiting today!

hello, friend (taylored expressions)

Hello, hello! Today I did a bit of watercoloring on Taylored ExpressionsKeep in Touch Watercolor Panels. The set includes 12 different illustrations, each printed onto a 3″ x 4″ panel of heavy weight watercolor paper. I had a hard time choosing which to use, they are all so pretty!

Taylored Expressions Watercolor Panels-Keep in Touch

I colored using Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. For the base coloring, I scribbled the marker onto an acrylic block then picked up each color with a waterbrush. To add a bit more shading, I applied the marker directly to the panel once the watercolor portion was completely dry.

Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers – yellow, bright yellow, light green, olive green, orange, cobalt blue, brown, dark brown

I added the “friend” from Fresh Florals, stamping white onto black then white embossing.
