Thoughts of You

Hi everyone.  :)

I’ve finally gotten around to coloring a C.C. Designs digi-image I purchased a while ago.   (I still have one more.)

Thoughts of You

     CCDTOY

This is Heidi among the Flowers from the Swiss Pixie collection.  I think they’re all so cute.  I may need another!

I used one of my few remaining felt stitched flowers and some crocheted lace trim sent to me by my brad-loving buddy, Jody;)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Snowy Friends

Published by Michele Boyer under C.C. Designs, My Designs

It is such a pleasure to design with stamps illustrated by a friend!   My stamping buddy, Diane Zechman, illustrated this Snow Friends set by C.C. Designs.  The snowman images are just adorable and I love how the snowflakes have the tiniest hearts on the ends!  Can you see them?

Snow Friends are the Best Friends

     SFBF

I paper-pieced the snow”gal’s” coat, hat and scarf and used just a bit of marker on other parts.  The decorative edge was created with a Martha SFBFCUStewart snowflake punch.  I didn’t get the result I was hoping for (not really sure what that was-lol) so I glued some little flower charms along the edge.  You can’t tell in the picture, but I also added Angel Wings Shimmerz to the snowgal and ground.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Hey Chicky!

Published by Michele Boyer under C.C. Designs, My Designs

Good morning.     (lol)

I have a couple samples today using another new release by C.C. Designs from All That Scraps.  This set is called Hey Chicky and it consists of four chicks and the sentiment.

Hey Chicky #1

HCUI used the new SEI Chick-A-Dee patterned paper and brads.  All the patterns in this line are so cute.  And what I like about the brads (besides the fact that they all match the paper) is that they are different shapes and sizes.

After stamping the two chicks onto the peachy paper, I stamped them again onto white cardstock, colored them with reinkers and then pieced them onto the peach paper.   The umbrella and boots were paper-pieced as well.

I messed up a bit in stamping the first set of raindrops at that monsoon angle but I didn’t want to begin again.  So what these chicks are actually saying to each other is “Run! Run!”

Hey Chicky #2

HCFFor some reason, I struggled a bit with this one.  I think it’s the white space around the chick that bothers me.

I used the same SEI Chick-A-Dee paper and brads and attached a little pink Prima over the stamped flower.  The tiny yellow brad in the center is not from the SEI pack but from a Queen & Co. pack of sprinkle brads.

I used a scallop blade in my Fiskars Rotary trimmer for the scalloped edge.  And a tag corner punch made for an easy tag shape for the sentiment.  (No hole; the brad is just postioned over the end of the white cardstock.)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you all have a great Monday!

It’s my birthday!

Published by Michele Boyer under C.C. Designs, My Designs

Sorry for the double post today.  I have a lot of new releases this week and it’s getting tough to juggle.

It’s not really my birthday…that’s the name of this new set by C.C. Designs, one of five new releases available Friday, April 4th from All That Scraps.  Of all of them, I think this one is my favorite.

It’s all about the Presents
PubFor this one, I paper-pieced most of the gifts and Lucky’s hat and colored Lucky with Copics.  I think he’s cute buried in all the gifts!

Cardstock:  SU Chocolate Chip, CC Designs white    Patterned Paper:  Pebbles, Inc. Travel Dot and Travel Stripe   Stamps: CC Designs “It’s my Birthday”   Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black, Ranger Walnut Distress   Accessories: Copic markers, American Crafts medium Chestnut brads, black SU marker, sewing machine/thread, pop dots, sponge.  Card size 5 ½”x 4 ¼”.

.

Happy Birthday!

HBMR2I colored this little monkey with Copics and paper-pieced the balloons and his hat.  When trimming the image, I allowed the balloon to extend past the border, then added the extra two, raising all three on pop dots.  The monkey’s head and hat are popped up as well.

I used a craft knife to carefully cut around the bottoms of his hands so I could tuck the sentiment beneath them.  There are pop dots under the birthday sign too.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day! :)

Happy Anniversary, ATS!

Published by Michele Boyer under C.C. Designs, My Designs

With April comes the first anniversary of All That Scraps and to celebrate, C.C. Designs is releasing five new stamp sets and a background!  They will be available Friday, April 4th, but Christine is previewing them, one set a day prior to the release.  With each preview, there’s a give-away of the stamp set and a couple of fun accessories! Check it out on the ATS blog!

Handyman Jack

HMJaHere I used the first of one of C.C. Designs’ newest lines, Jack of All Trades.  This is Handyman Jack.  He hangs with Queenie who you will meet in just a little bit.  I stamped him onto new C.C. Designs 140 lb. white cardstock… fabulous for use with Copic markers and a nice heavy weight to use as a card base.  When trimming the image, I let his hammer hang a bit over the edge (just because I like to do that).  I pieced the sentiment together by combining the words from this set and another of the new releases, Hey Chicky.  (I’ll  have samples of that set soon.)

The stripes on the caramel cardstock are another of C.C. Designs’ newest releases, a Stripes Big Ol’ Background.  I only stamped it once, but if you turned the cardstock and stamped a second time, you’d have a plaid, or you could stamp onto a lighter cardstock and color in your own stripes.

Cardstock:  SU Night of Navy, Creamy Caramel, C.C. Designs (white)   Patterned Paper:  Pebbles, Inc. “Boys Only Stripes”   Stamps:  C.C. Designs “Handyman Jack,” “Hey Chicky” and “Stripes” Big Ol’ Background  Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black, SU Night of Navy   Accessories: Copic markers, Karen Foster screw brads.  Card size: 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.

Cleaning Queenie

CQ320This is Queenie.  She doesn’t like to clean, and on the inside of the card there is one word that describes cleaning.  (I think we all know what that is.)

I colored her too with Copics.  Actually, her shirt and pants are not as bright as they appear here.  They’re only slightly darker than the colors in the patterned paper.  (My camera is doing strange things lately.  I need to figure it out.)   And speaking of the patterned paper, it’s new by SEI called Chick-A-Dee.  Then there’s blue Chick-A-Doo.   It’s SO cute!   (I was sure to place my order yesterday before you guys buy it all!)

I’ll have more new samples soon.  Thanks for stopping by!

Cardstock:  C.C. Designs (white), Bazzill Basics   Patterned Paper:  SEI Chick-A-Dee “Chicky Check” and “Tiny Bubbles”  Stamps:  C.C. Designs “Cleaning Queenie”   Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black   Accessories: Copic markers, American Crafts eyelets, black SU marker.  Card size: 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.

I smell a bug…or is it bubblegum?

Published by Michele Boyer under C.C. Designs, My Designs

Ok…I couldn’t stay away from the bright, sparkly paper and cute images for too terribly long.  Plus, I have a really fun new product to tell you about.

Have you ever heard of Card Scents?  They are so much fun!  The scent comes in a little bottle with a brush (like nail polish).  You just lightly brush the scent along the edges of your card.   I haven’t noticed any staining, and if you send the card in a clear envelope, the scent will last longer.  There are lots of fragrances…you can check them out here from All That Scraps.  This first card smells JUST like bubblegum!  I also bought Cupcake which is *perfect* for birthday cards (and does it ever smell yummy)!

Forever Friends

FFBB

Since I’ve used quite a bit of this Imaginisce patterned paper, I now have quite a little pile of scraps.  So I thought I’d put some of them to good use.   I used scraps to paper-piece these little Cutie Patootie bugs’ outfits and head flowers…I was going to say hair flowers, but they’re hairless.   The strips of green and blue paper… scraps.  Since I didn’t have *just* the right shade of pink Dew Drops, I chose the clear ones and colored over them with a Light Prawn Copic. (I love being able to custom-color ribbon, brads, drops, etc. with those markers.)  I added the little white stitch lines with a white gel pen.  I also used a clear Spica glitter pen to outline the bugs and dresses but I couldn’t get the sparkle to show in the photo. :(

Under the Weather

UTWBBUmbrelli’s little umbrella is paper-pieced (another scrap) and raised on pop dots.  The boots and the blue strip across the center, also scraps.  After watercoloring with reinkers, I outlined the bug’s body and umbrella with Spica glitter pens but again, it doesn’t show.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day! (You **need** the Card Scents!!!)   :)

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (base)   Patterned Paper:  Imaginisce “For Peep’s Sake”   Stamps:  C.C. Designs “Cutie Patootie,” “Umbrelli,” “Rain”; sentiments by A Muse Artstamps   Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black, Stazon Black, SU Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue   Accessories:  Copic markers, Black SU marker, Spica Glitter Pens, Island Blossoms Dew Drops, Aleene’s Paper Glaze, Stamp-a-ma-jig, white gel pen, white taffeta ribbon, Bubble Gum Card Scents, pop dots, waterbrush.

ETA: When Feedblitz sent the blog update notification to everyone, it deleted my …’s in the post title so it looks like it says “Do I smell a bugor is it bubblegum.” Bwahahahahaa. It’s not a BUGOR I smell! LOL. Oh my gosh. Too funny.

Easter Greetings…a sketch

Published by Michele Boyer under C.C. Designs, My Designs

It’s been so nice here, I’ve been in the mood for Easter and spring, so I thought I’d use my current favorite Easter-themed paper, “For Peep’s Sake” by Imaginisce and a little Bunny Ears stamp by C.C. Designs.

Easter Greetings

EGCCD

I stamped the duck/bunny with Stazon onto Bazzill Coconut Smoothies, colored him with SU reinkers, then outlined him with a Cool Gray Copic.  I paper-pieced the eggs and added some glittery dots with a clear glitter pen.   The layout is from AmyR’s Friday sketch challenge.

Don’t forget about the C.C. Designs Rubber Stamp contest!  You could win *all* of the April releases…and there are quite a few.  It’s a “first birthday” celebration for C.C. Designs! The contest runs through March 20.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  TGIF!

You’re a Super-Star!

Published by Michele Boyer under C.C. Designs, My Designs

Good morning!  Today I’ve used AmyR’s Friday sketch challenge and one of my favorite stamps by C.C. Designs, the Play Ball Bitzy Bug!  (I actually love all the Bugz!)

SSBB

I stamped the image onto Bazzill Coconut Smoothies cardstock with the intention of using Copics to color the image.  But apparently, 144 Copics just aren’t enough.  I couldn’t seem to match ANY of the colors on this patterned paper!  So instead I used SU reinkers and I have to say I LOVE how the Bazzill Smoothies accepts watercolor!  I’ll be using my ink more often now.  The colors didn’t bleed, the paper didn’t warp…I was very happy.  (I did, however, use a gray Copic to outline the image once the ink was dry.)

I also “tried” to use my new Copic airbrush for the first time.  ACK!  I either need an air compressor or a REALLY big can of air because I need LOTS of practice.

I also tried (many times) to use my little Daisy D’s baseball stitch roll-on rub-on.  Let’s just say it didn’t work very well and it is now in the trash.  So I used my mat pack to make my own baseball stitch (across the yellow stripe).  Once I pierced the straight line, I readjusted the template so that the straight line of holes fell in between two rows of template holes.  That way the “stitches” were closer together.  I also used the mat pack to faux stitch around the oval. If  you insert the needle through one hole, leave the needle in the cardstock and turn the template, you can align the next hole along the curve and still have evenly spaced “stitches.”

Be sure to check out the All That Scraps blog!  There’s a contest you might not want to miss!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!

Some more Monkey Fun

Published by Michele Boyer under C.C. Designs, My Designs

Happy Sunday!  We’ve been really busy moving around quite a few things so that I can set up my very own stamp room.  Can’t begin to tell you how excited I am about that!  The house is a mess, but we’re making progress!  I need to get busy, looking for some furniture.  WOOHOO! :)   Since I have to clean and sort through my mess of stamp stuff, I thought I’d fit in a bit of playing here and there.  It took me a while, but I was able to finish these two cards using the latest release by C. C. Designs, “Monkey Love.“   (Most of the supplies are from All That Scraps.)

I had some of this Piggy Tales patterned paper left and thought it would be perfect with the monkeys.  It’s the “Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater” line.  All the papers are double-sided, making coordination of colors and prints super easy.

Temp RemFor this first card, I used a 3/4″ circle punch for the balloons.  The patterned ones are raised on pop dots.  Once I drew in the strings and adhered the balloons, I decided they needed more definition so I carefully outlined them with a black marker.  The package is from Lucky’s Christmas Wish.  I first stamped the package onto the patterned paper and cut it out.  Then stamped again onto the turquoise paper, cutting out only the ribbon and bow.  I stamped the hanging monkey a second time so I could cut off his arm and adhere it over the package.  The ground/grass was scribbled in with a black marker.  I added some color then sponged all the edges.

OHDCCDMLI used a scrap of the patterned paper for this little 4 1/4″ square card.  I stamped the flowers as if the monkey were juggling, then randomly stamped them again onto the square of patterned paper.  I stumbled upon these flower eyelets at Michael’s in the sewing section.

Better get back to the moving!  Thanks for looking!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!  I’ll be back soon!  (Oh, she’s picking a winner tonight -Sunday- so there’s not much time, but Lindsey is having a give-away on her blog if you’re interested!)

Hey, Hey, We’re the Monkeys!

Published by Michele Boyer under C.C. Designs, My Designs

Good morning!  Wow, it’s been a super-busy week for me.  I can’t believe it’s Thursday already.  And still so much to do…oh well.  At least it’s “work” I enjoy!  :)

JHR2These little monkeys are just so much fun!  They’re from a new set by C.C. Designs called Monkey Love, available Saturday at 10 p.m. from All That Scraps.  The stamp sets are now being packaged in CD cases-love that!!  Also being released are three new background stamps…Plaid, Hearts and Dots and they’re a full 4 3/4″ x 5 1/2″ (give or take a tiny bit).  Also, in case you didn’t know, there is now an All That Scraps blog!  Check it out here and scroll down a bit for their giveaway!

For this card, I used the new Plaid background.  I tilted the monkey stamp so he would look like he’s really hanging. The sentiment just fit in SU’s small tag punch.  It’s hanging from some oval Making Memories jump rings I’ve had forever.   The flowers are Bitty Bazzill Blossoms.  As I’ve mentioned before, I consider myself totally flower-challenged…I hope they look ok.  I’m never sure. (lol)  I added some tiny stitches here and there around the plaid background.  They’re a bit hard to see, but I thought it just looked too plain sitting on the dotted paper.

TH1This is my favorite of the two monkey stamps.  I love those out-stretched arms, just waiting for a hug. :)  I used the Heart background, faux stitching around the edges.  If I had brown thread, I would have machine stitched.  (It just would have been faster and I like the added texture of machine stitching on cards.)

Thanks for stopping by!!!  Have a great Thursday!!

Cardstock:  Bazzill Coconut Smoothies, Chocolate Chip   Patterned Paper: Doodlebug Choco Dot    Stamps:  C.C. Designs “Monkey Love,” “Plaid” and “Hearts” backgrounds   Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black, SU Chocolate Chip   Accessories:  Copic markers, SU Jumbo antique brass eyelets, Bazzill Bitty Blossoms, American Crafts Chestnut brads, copper eyelet, small and large tag punches, mat pack/needle, Chocolate Chip marker, mm oval jump rings, linen thread, ribbon, black 3-d gel pen (eyes), Crop-a-dile, pop dots.
