Paper Cuts

Hello, hello!  Here’s that sample for C.C. Designs other new set to be released January 4th through All That Scraps, “Love Ya Lots.”  So many cute images!!  Look for yet one more tomorrow!  (It’s a Take Two with Lindsey, Trudee and Julia.  It’s been a while since we’ve had one of those!) 

For this card, I stamped the lion three times, once for the main image, then a second time for his mane and a third time for his tail.   I got the idea to pop up the mane from my friend, Teri.  She made a lion card a while back that was adorable!  (She’ll say the popped up mane wasn’t her idea, but I’m giving her the credit since that’s where I saw it! )  I used a craft knife to cut out the face.  I popped up the tail as well, gluing the other end to his body/hands so it wouldn’t look like it was floating.

I stitched the linen thread X’s and added the Primas before adhering the assembled card front to the card base.  I don’t like ‘things’ showing on the inside of the card if I can help it.

Here’s another sneak peek at the new C.C. Designs set, “Love Ya Much” to be released January 4th ( from All That Scraps).

I used Copics to color the birds.  (I’m still working on my shading but I’m having fun trying!)

Not really much to say about how I did anything…it’s pretty simple.  Tomorrow I hope to have a sample for you from C.C. Designs other new release, “Love Ya Lots.”

Hi!!  I don’t know about you all, but I’m looking forward to getting back into a “normal” routine.  I had a great holiday break (did you?), but it’s time to get back to business, so to speak. 

On Friday, January 4th, C.C. Designs will release two more Little Bit Kits (available from All That Scraps).  For this card I used the “Love Ya Much” set.  And you all know how much I *love* Lucky! 

Here I used a square from Basic Grey’s “Chipboard Elements,” covering it with a coordinating solid-colored “patterned paper” and filing the edges with Basic Grey’s Precision File Set.  If you don’t have one of those sets and you like chipboard, it’s a must have.

I stamped Lucky twice, coloring and cutting off his head (that sounds bad) then popping it up on dimensionals.

I’ll have more new release samples over the next few days…more C.C. Designs…more My Favorite Things…and soon new Lizzie Anne Designs as well.  (It’s a busy month!)

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday!!  Mine was fine (aside from a little sickness but that part wasn’t too terribly bad).  It’s been nice to spend time with family, some I hadn’t seen in way too long.  Yesterday we traveled a bit to see my two grandmas.  I feel so fortunate to still have them!  I wish we could have stayed longer.

Today I decided to play with a Little Penguin by C.C. Designs (available from All That Scraps).  I think this little guy is so cute with his bouquet of flowers. 

I used a 3-d black gel pen to highlight his eyes and the centers of the yellow flowers.

To add a subtle bit of “something extra,” I tucked a Heidi Swapp Ghost Shape heart behind the ribbon.  I attached it to the card with a glue dot (hidden behind the knot).

The penguin image is colored with Copics and popped up on dimensionals.

Hi everyone!  Sorry for the lag in posts.  I still have a sick child at home (same child– different illness). Somehow we managed to progress from strep to pneumonia.  Poor little guy.  Hopefully by tomorrow he’ll be getting somewhat back to normal.

Time for another design using non-traditional holiday colors.  Here I used some of my favorite paper from We R Memory Keepers.  I thought the dots on the flakes would go well with the dotted gift wrap.

I stamped Lucky (by C.C. Designs available from All That Scraps), masked him, then stamped the gifts to the left and right of him.  Then on a separate piece of cardstock, I stamped a second row of gifts, colored them, then cut out the whole strip, adhering them with dimensionals over the first row and Lucky.

Good morning!  How is everybody today?

I have some news from All That Scraps!  Winter Playtime and Little Penguins were scheduled to be released by C.C. Designs on Dec. 7, BUT they’re available now…a week early!

I think the penguins are every bit as cute as Lucky and Lulu (but, truth be told, my heart still belongs to Lucky)!  In this set, the two penguins shown above are separate stamps.  I just thought they’d be cute together so I stamped the boy, masked him, then stamped the girl.  I colored them with Copics, then added the faux stitching.

The patterned paper is by Piggy Tales–Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater collection.  (I used it here on my owl card too.)  I love it!  It has brown, after all! 

On all the eyes, I like to add shine with a black 3-d gel pen.  If I had a mustard colored pen, I’d do the same on the penguin’s beak.  It’s just a little detail that I feel adds a lot.

Here is Sneek Peek #3 of C.C. Designs’ new Winter Playtime set (available December 7th from All That Scraps).  Here Lulu is building a new snow buddy.  I like how she’s still holding the other arm! 

I paper-pieced her snowsuit, coloring in the trim with a white gel pen.  I added the snowflake brad as an afterthought and wish I hadn’t stamped all those snowflakes…or at least the one in the corner close to the brad. Oh well…  The snowman is raised on dimensionals and I used a red 3-d gel pen for his buttons and a black one for his eyes (Lulu’s too)!

I struggled a bit with a layout for this card, but decided in the end not to cover too much of the patterned paper.  It’s one of my favorites from Daisy D’s.

I know I said yesterday that I’d have a Lulu sample for you, but I decided to sneak this little penguin card in first.  This little guy is also part of the Winter Playtime set by C.C. Designs to be released Dec. 7th from All That Scraps.  He’s so cute! And he fits right in with Lucky and Lulu!

I added some Stardust Stickles to the snowflakes, ground and ear muffs for some snowy sparkle.  The focal image panel is raised on dimensionals, as is the center penguin.

On December 7th, C.C. Designs will release another Lucky/Lulu Little Bit Kit called Winter Playtime (available from All That Scraps). The images are adorable!  Lucky is sledding, Lulu has a snowman friend, and there’s a darling little penguin!  (AND there’s a second new penguin set…but I don’t have it quite yet.)

The sentiment here is another new release, sold separately as a Little Singe Bit, “Wintertime Hi.”

It doesn’t show very well (or at all) in the photo, but I used a glitter pen to add some snowy highlights on the ground and tiny dots in the air.  And I sponged white craft ink on the edges of the red to soften the color a bit.

I started making this card Tuesday night, set it aside, and in the morning saw the sketch challenge at SCS and decided that sketch would work just fine!  I don’t always have time to participate in the challenges, but the sketch is my favorite (because I often feel “layout-challenged”).

I used my favorite new C.C. Designs stamps here (from All That Scraps), “Lucky’s Christmas Wish“.  I colored Lucky with Copic markers, then stamped the trees on a solid green paper from Basic Grey’s Figgy paper pad.  I cut them out, added the little copper lights with a glitter pen and attached the trees to the white panel (also from Figgy).  Two of the trees are popped up for added dimension.  There is more Fun Flock on the hat and I added copper brads in the centers of the top and bottom rows of candies.
