Taylored Expressions March Release Now Available

Hi everyone! I hope you’ve enjoyed the Taylored Expressions‘ March release previews over the last several days. You can find everything, now available, HERE. Before you head over to the TE store, I have two more samples to share.

I’ve used a variety of new dies in addition to There’s No Place Like Home stamp set.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

On my first card I used new Little Bits Cottage, nestled in between houses from previously released Neighborhood Border die. Behind the window openings, I placed small pieces of card stock colored lightly with a Y00 Copic marker.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

“HOME” was stamped in Pink Champagne and Potato Chip inks.

Next I used There’s No Place Like Home stamp set with Sitting Pretty dies.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I cut a few strips of the heart banner from Skinny Mini Valentine Border and used the hearts to place inside each frame.

This time I stamped the word “HOME” using Toffee and Pink Champagne inks.

Home Sweet Home and Matchy Matchy (Taylored Expressions Previews, Day 3)

Hi everyone! It’s Day 3 of Taylored Expressions‘ March release previews! All new products will be available for purchase tomorrow at 7. a.m. PDT (10 a.m. EST). Today I’ve used two new die sets, both loads of fun! :)

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

First I created this adorable little house/cottage using new Home Sweet Home and Home Sweet Home Accessories dies.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

It looks like a lot of work but it actually came together quite quickly. My husband was even impressed and asked that I create 20 more for his train layout. Umm…no, thanks.  😉   It really was a lot of fun to create. I used the door knob as centers for the little flowers and the “welcome mat” was stamped using a partial sentiment from There’s No Place Like Home.

Next I created a card using new Matchy Matchy stamp set and coordinating dies along with new Matchbox die.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions I used the scalloped frame and curtains from Build a Scene Calendar 2 as a backdrop for my party squirrel.

Copic markers – BG11, BG13, BG18, E29, E70, E71, E74, R00, R01, R81, R85, RV000, RV32, Y21, YG06, YG09, YR23

The Matchbox is super cute and perfect for holding any small gift (or the all-time favorite — cash)!  :)

My Door is Always Open and Grouchy Grumplings 2 (Taylored Expressions Previews, Day 2)

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing a couple more cards using Taylored Expressions‘ March 9 release products.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I had a lot of fun creating this card using several die sets from the Door to Door series. From the new Door to Door 2 set, I used the windowed door with the “hinge” which allows you to create a door which opens to reveal a sentiment.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Inside my door, I stamped a sentiment from new Door to Door Sentiments. I used the right most flower from the hanging basket as well as the right edge of the plant to hold the door closed.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Inside, I stamped the remainder of the sentiment.  :)

Next, I used new Grouchy Grumpings 2. I just love these guys and their sarcasm/quirkiness.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions I stamped the goat along with the baaaad mood sentiment. That was stamped in Sugar Cube ink and white embossed.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Copic markers – BG11, R00, W00, W1, W2, W3

I used Build a Scene Rolling Hills and Farm Fence, and the cute Little Bits Barn and Silo dies, all framed in Stitched Frame Stacklets 1.

It’s So Nice Having a Friend Like You (stamping bella)

Hello crafty friends! Today is Bellarific Friday, otherwise known as Challenge Day with Stamping Bella! Last week’s challenge was to create anything using a current SB image so that should have been very easy. :)  Today the team is also using the March Stamp of the Month, Uptown Girls Belinda and Bernadette the Bench Buddies which is 20% off through March 31st.

Michele Boyer- Stamping Bella

While the Belinda and Bernadette image is beautiful on its own (absolutely one of my faves!), I wanted to add a bit more detail using Copic’s 4pc Multiliner Fine Set.

Copic Fine Nib Inking Pens

This fine nib collection includes four nib sizes (0.03, 0.05, 0.1 and 0.3), all pigment based, waterproof, archival, disposable and perfect for use with Copics. They’re also great for filling in any lines that may not have stamped 100% in all areas. I always keep a variety of Multiliners on hand and use them *all* the time. (A “must have” product for me!)

Using Copic Fine Nib Multiliners to add detail to stamped image

I used the 0.05 Multiliner to add tiny dots to the shirt and skirt of the girl on the right. I also doodled tiny dots around the left, right and bottom border of the stamped panel.

Michele Boyer- Stamping Bella

Copic markers – B91, B93, B95, BG10, BG70, C00, C1, C2, E00, E01, E11, E13, E31, E33, E35, E40, E41, E42, E43, E47, E59, E79, R83, R85, RV32, Y21, Y32, YG0000, YG01, YG23, YG25, YR18, YR23; 0.05 black Multiliner

The cute, tiny flowers are new Posies (shaker elements) from Queen & Co. I love them. They’re just so tiny. And cute!

Next week’s challenge is to create using this {Mojo}Bella sketch:

March 10

Use any current Stamping Bella image then email your card to by next Thursday to be featured on the SB blog and to be entered to win some Bella Bucks! (All challenge details can be found HERE.)

One of My Favorite Peeps (a taylored expressions Easter treat)

Hi everyone! We’ve had an early spring in this part of the country and so it seems only natural (not really, it’s kind of weird) to be thinking about Easter treats. Taylored Expressions has an adorable Sack It Chick die set which fits perfectly onto their Sack It treat box.

I used the largest Egg Stacklet shape as the base for the chick’s body and a bow from All Wrapped Up atop the chick’s head.

The box is incredibly easy to assemble.

1 – Die-cut two box pieces and fold along the score lines. Apply double-sided tape to flaps on both pieces and bottom of one piece.

2 – Remove release tape; carefully align box bottoms and adhere, pressing firmly along tape areas. I use a bone folder to apply added pressure.

3 – Carefully aligning box sides, adhere flaps to inside of box.

4 – Finished!

X-Press It High Tack Double Sided Tape

I always reach for X-Press It High Tack Double-sided tape for projects like this. It’s great for all weights of paper, especially heavier types such as mat board, cardboard and heavyweight card stock. It’s also great on wood, metal, plastic and fabric! It comes in 1/2″, 1/4″ and 1/8″ widths, features high grip and easy tearing by hand. It’s also heat resistant so if you heat emboss or iron over it , the tape will not be damaged. Also, the release paper is very easily removed and doesn’t stick to your fingers. (That makes me crazy.)

The cute sentiment is from new Peek a Boo Easter stamp set. You can find additional Sack It die sets HERE. (I also especially like the fox!)

Let’s Celebrate (stamping bella)

TGIF, friends! Here in Virginia we have apparently decided to skip winter almost entirely. We had a very brief spring and now it seems we’ve moved on to summer! 70’s in February. It’s very weird, but if we can’t have snow, we might as well wear flip flops! And so I shall. :)

On my card today I used Stamping Bella‘s Winobella from the Bella 2.0 Collection.

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

We were to create using the photo below as inspiration.

Feb 24

I went with a bit of the color combo and definitely the theme of alcohol. (I prefer wine.)

Copic markers – B39, BG11, E00, E01, E11, E31, E33, E35, E51, G21, G24, G94, R00, R01, R11, R14, R22, R24, R37, R89, W00, W1, W2, Y21

Next week’s challenge is to create anything you’d like. No limitations other than to use a current Stamping Bella image. Email your card to by next Thursday to be featured on the SB blog and to be entered to win some Bella Bucks! (All challenge details can be found HERE.)

almost perfect (stamping bella)

Today I tried something new. It is most certainly *not* almost perfect. But I am learning.  I love the new Danielle Donaldson stamps from Stamping Bella. I so want to use them but I don’t know what to do with them. It’s a completely new style for me. SO… for today, I pretty much tried to mimic some of the watercolor style I found online. I left white around the image as recommended in Danielle’s (amazing) book, “creativeGIRL: Mixed Media Techniques for an Artful Life.” And I copied Danielle’s white dots (using Copic’s Opaque White and a toothpick). Maybe if I try to replicate other people’s ideas, I will eventually have one of my own. That is my hope. For now, I give complete credit to Danielle.

Stamping Bella Almoststella

After watercoloring, I wanted to add some flower stems for these adorable new Pom Flowers from Queen & Co.  A couple of my Copic Multiliners were running low on ink so I took this opportunity to replace the cartridges. It was super easy.

Replacing Copic Mutiliner Ink Cartridges

As described on the Copic website, the A and B refills contain different ink viscosity to aid ink flow, depending on the nib size, so it’s important to choose the correct one.

Replacing Copic Mutiliner Ink Cartridges Step 1

After removing the cartridge from the package, simply remove the clear cap.

Replacing Copic Mutiliner Ink Cartridges Step 2

Then remove and toss the empty cartridge from the pen barrel. (Sometimes a coin helps to remove it.  I was able to use just my fingers.)

Replacing Copic Mutiliner Ink Cartridges Step 3

Simply pop in the new ink cartridge. Done! So easy! And no mess!

Stamping Bella Almoststella

Once I drew in the stems, I glued my flowers atop.

Happy Birthday (paper smooches)

Hello, everyone. I’m back today with another birthday card, this time using Paper SmoochesCelebrate Balloons dies.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

I thought it would be fun to tie the balloons to the leg of the chick from Birthday Buddies. He just can’t put his foot down! :)

celebrate (paper smooches)

Hi everyone!  Today I’m sharing a card using new Party Balloons dies and Celebrate Word die from Paper Smooches latest release. You can find all of the new stamps and dies HERE.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

After die-cutting the balloons, I colored each with a Copic marker, overlapping the common areas to achieve the overlaying colors. The Celebrate word die was colored with Copics as well. I found the word easiest to color before removing the die from the surrounding card stock.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

Copic markers – B00, B000, R83, Y11

To finish my card, I adhered some super shimmery star sequins. Pretty quick and easy!

Thanks so much for visiting today!
