Just for Fun, WCMD and Blog Candy

Happy Saturday!  Lots to share so let’s get started!

Time for this month’s Just for Fun challenge with Carole!   Once Carole’s ”mystery paper” was enroute, I chose Bikababeabella from  Stamping Bella for our challenge.  (The paper is ”Mischa” from the Hoodie Line by Luxe…love it!)

Also my fellow stamper, Lynda Benden, who is a member of Our Creative Corner, asked me to be her guest this month.  (How fun!  Thanks so much, Lynda!)  Her challenge for me was to include bling of any kind on a card.  Yay…that’s easy!  :)

Dare to be Different

      DTBD400

I used my Copic markers to color the image then I added some bling. The entire image is colored with some color of Spica glitter pen.

DCU300I used a scalloped square Nestability die to frame the image.  I cut two black scalloped squares, cut them apart and then pieced them back together, overlapping one of the scallops on the top and bottom to create a rectangle of the size I needed.  (I got this great tip from Susan Liles.  She’s one smart cookie.  I never would have thought to do that!)

I added Heidi Swapp bling in each scallop, a tiny Hero Arts adhesive crystal on the flower on the bike and the sentiment is embossed in black (for even more shine).

Don’t forget to check out Carole’s project!  It’s bound to be fabulous and, as always, I can’t wait to see it too!

WCMD Fun

Not long ago, Paper Crafts Magazine began World Card Making Day as a time to set aside for getting started on all of your holiday cards.  As one of the sponsors of this project, Cornish Heritage Farms has some fun challenges, chat and prizes to share today.  You can find ALL the details here!

Paper Crafts Magazine has provided to me two copies of their latest publication “Cards, Gifts & More” to share with my blog readers. So here’s what I’m going to do.

One winner will receive a copy of the magazine.

.

WCMDLA second winner will receive the magazine PLUS an SEI Poppy 12 x 12 paper pack, Bazzill In Stitches stitching templates, Basic Grey Journal Flourish clear stamps, Close to My Heart Library Cards clear stamps, an EK Success ready-made scrapbook album and a We R Memory Keepers double-sided tab dispenser w/refill.

All you have to do is leave a comment on this post.  To keep it fair, only one comment per person please.  I will select two winners on the evening of Tuesday, October 7th, approximately 9 p.m. (est) via random number generator.  #1 gets the magazine, #2 gets the loot (and the magazine).

Please visit the World Card Making Day website for lots of great ideas and ways you can  celebrate this holiday.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great weekend! (”Say it Like it Is” Saturday will return next week!)  :)

So how about that Give-away?

Published by Michele Boyer under Give-aways

Hi everybody!  I know I say it every time I post, but I truly am grateful that you take the time to stop in here to see what I’ve been up to.  So to thank you, I have a couple of really great give-aways. (At least I hope you think they’re great!)  The give-away items have changed a bit from what I had initially planned but I think you’ll be just as happy…or happier!

I have two prizes which means two winners!   I will use the Random Number Generator to select winners on the evening of Monday, June 16th.   Just leave a comment on this post for your chance to win one of the two prizes.  Just to keep it fair, PLEASE only one comment per person.  Additional comments by the same person will be deleted.

You know how much I *love* the new Baby Love set from the Kim Hughes Collection at Cornish Heritage Farms, right?  Well, I just happen to have an extra!  And how about a Classic Essential Expressions set from Mona Lisa Moments at CHF?  I have an extra of that too.  Just in case you have no clue what I’m talking about (and how can that be?), here they are:

Give-away No. 1

Giveaway1

A couple of things to keep in mind if you’ve never seen or used Cornish Heritage Farms stamps… They are made of the highest quality, deeply-etched red rubber with the best cling around!  No slippage here!  (So you’ll need acrylic blocks to use them.)

The stamps come on one sheet so you’ll need to cut them out yourself.  If you’ve never used a Cornish Heritage Farms stamp set, you will LOVE the quality of these stamps!!  (Just my biased opinion, of course!)

For the second give-away, I have a Basic Grey Sultry 6″ x 6″ paper pad and Vintage Garnet Belle Fleur Prima flowers (both from Jacksonbelle Embellishments), a Pitch Black Adirondack stamp pad and a package of White Quilted Weave Magic Mesh.

Give-away 2

         Giveaway2

As always, thank you SO much for stopping by!  I can’t say how much your support means to me.

Don’t forget to check back after Monday night to see if you’ve won!  Good luck!

Pass the Pudding…a Give-Away!

Published by Michele Boyer under Give-aways, My Designs

JBGWL4

Well, I got my big ol’ package of new goodies this weekend from Jacksonbelle Embellishments and I just couldn’t wait to play!  Basic Grey’s new Figgy line is fantastic!  My only complaint about the 6″ x 6″ paper pad (which I prefer to the 12″ x 12″ sheets)…my ONLY complaint…is that there is only one sheet of each design.  But you know what that means, right?  I’ll just have to buy more! :)

For this card, I used the new Basic Grey Winterland stamp set.  I love that deer!  I used Cinnamon and Platinum Stickles to make some shimmery “lights” on the antlers. The stamp set comes with little ornaments to “hang” on the antlers as well.  (I have another sample using the ornaments which I’ll post later.)  Oh, and the deer head is popped up too.

Cardstock:  SU Chocolate Chip, Papertrey Ink white     Patterned Paper:  Basic Grey Figgy      Stamps:  Basic Grey Winterland, SU Small Script     Ink:  SU Chocolate Chip     Accessories:  Ribbon, Cinnamon and Platinum Stickles, dimensionals, mat pack/needle, SU Chocolate Chip marker, ticket corner punch.  Finished card size 5 ½” x 4 ¼”.

So….as another thank you to you guys for continually checking back here, I feel like sharing.  How about a Figgy 6″ x 6″ paper pad…a package of Daisy D’s rub-on zig-zag tape…new burgundy Stickles…3 yards of May Arts red/burgundy reversible satin ribbon…all from Jacksonbelle Embellishments.  I love all these products!  Just tell me…what is your favorite occasion for card-making (or crafting in general)?  I like making cards for no reason in particular, just to make someone’s day (or at least make them smile).  My second favorite is Halloween!

I’ll use the random number generator to select a winner the morning of Sunday, October 28th. Good luck!  And as always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Let’s Hear it for the Boys! It’s a Give-away!

Dude MFT

Hmmm…looks like this boy is in a bit of trouble.  I’m happy to say I’ve never had an experience like this (including having to wear a business suit to work)!

Well, you know… my mind wanders when I start thinking about combining sets, and My Favorite Things stamps are absolutely perfect for mixing.

This card took a bit of planning.  I actually started by stamping a beer bottle, then masking it, stamping another and masking that one as well.  I started with only three bottles on the floor but then thought, no, there needs to be more (because he’s in LOTS of trouble).   But before adding bottles, I stamped the dude image.  I masked him, then stamped the woman from the Back to School set.   Next I stamped four more bottles, colored and cut them out and adhered each one individually in the pile.  The hat and fish plaque are mounted on dimensionals.

Since I haven’t used them in a while (and I need the practice), I got out my Prismacolor pencils to color the images.

I used my new favorite patterned paper again, Webster’s Pages (available here), adding tiny screw brads in each corner.

I have really appreciated everyone taking a peek at my blog.  I was hesitant to start it, wondering if anyone would even be interested in what goes through my mind or how I do things.  So as a “thank you” I’m having my first give-away.  I’ve tried to cover the boys, both big and small.  I’ve included the newly released set Let’s Hear it for the Boys from My Favorite Things, an 8″ x 8″ pack of the new Little Boy Biography Collection by Cosmo Cricket (VERY cute patterned paper with alphabet and journaling cards), a set of Karen Foster mini tool charms (many of you know how much I love those!), Boy Crazy mini sprinkle brads by Queen & Co., and three yards each of red/cream striped ribbon and brown/cream striped ribbon (both May Arts).  MFT GA 1

All you need to do is leave a comment on this post (one per person, please).  You can just say hi, ask a question, whatever.  You can comment through Tuesday, August 14th.  On August 15th I’ll use the random number generator to select a winner.

Thanks again for visiting! I really appreciate your interest! :)
