It’s Kraftin Kimmie Preview Time!

Hello.  🙂  It’s finally time for the Krafty girls to share sample of Kraftin Kimmie’s June releases.  This month we have a summer stamp kit packed with six lovely Moonlight Whispers mermaids, matching accessory stamps and a mermaid sentiment set!   The kit will only be available from the Kraftin Kimmie store, and for a limited time only it will be available at a 20% discount.

Additionally, we have a new little character, Miles the Mouse, from new artist Steven Leary.  This month Miles is beaching it up and looking oh so cute.  I’ll be sharing samples of him later.

Oceans of Love

    ofp

This is Nerissa.  Isn’t she pretty?  I colored her with Copics then cut the circle using my Creative Memories circle cutter which easily allows for areas (like her hair) to extend past the border.

I also added lots of sparkles with Melon and Buttermilk Spica glitter pens.  I especially love the Buttermilk one.  It leaves a very, very light yellow sparkle over any color.

To see more design team samples, please check out the Krafty blog HERE.  We’ll have samples each day leading up to the Krafty Hop and release Sunday, June 13th.  🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

A Kraftin Kimmie Challenge–It’s Triangular

Hello.  🙂   This week with Kraftin Kimmie, Diana is challenging us to use triangles on our cards.  That really is a challenge for me.  I’m not much of an “angle” girl.  But I like how my card turned out.

What’s Brewing?

   KKWB

I went back to one of my favorite images from the Moonlight Whispers line, Gabrielle.  I included one big triangle (on the left) which I then KKWBCUmostly covered with other pieces.  I felt a bit guilty using only the one so I added some small layered triangles beneath Gabrielle. (They don’t look too weird, do they?)

If you’d like to play along, you can find the challenge info HERE on the Krafty Blog and see other samples too!  Be sure to link your design there on the blog so you will have a chance to win a free stamp from Kraftin Kimmie!

Also, June release previews start next week!  Ack!  They are SO cute!  (Just sayin’…)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Roughing it up…just a bit

Hello.  🙂  Time for another challenge with Kraftin’ Kimmie.  This week Krista has asked us to Rough it Up…distress or add texture of some kind to our creations.  I’m afraid I wasn’t all that adventurous this week.  I added just a bit of distressing around my edges.

Love is in the Air

    KKLIITA

Here I’ve used You Lift Me Up from Kimmie’s Cindy & Mindy collection.  After coloring my image, I die-cut around it, leaving the bears little legs to dangle a bit past the edge.

KKLIITAINOn the inside, I used some of the leftover strips of patterned paper.  I just can’t toss them and it’s the perfect place to put them to good use.

You Brighten My Day

   KKYBMD

Here I’ve used Florence…and some really bright colors which I normally do not use.  I like them though.  🙂

KKYBMDCUI stamped her onto cream cardstock, colored with Copics and then cut her out and adhered her over my assembled panel.

I used a Fiskars “wave” texture plate on the blue cardstock then sponged over with vanilla craft ink to help the “waves” stand out a bit.

I also placed pop dots beneath the sign and Florence’s head to a add little more dimension.

Your next stop along the hop is with TARA and her daughter HANNAH!   (What a fab team!)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!  And happy hopping!  🙂

Kraftin’ Kimmie Previews, Day 2

Hi everyone!  I’m back today with another sample from Kraftin’ Kimmie’s May release.  I decided to make another card with Eleanor…and a sun.  I hope you don’t mind.  (She’s just so pretty…and it is a summer/swim theme.)  🙂

A Warm Hello

      KKAWH

Once again I paper-pieced Eleanor’s suit. This time I wanted white stripes so to achieve that look, I cut out the dotted parts and omitted KKAWHCUthe striped parts.

I added a tiny gold rhinestone to her suit and some itty-bitty eyelashes in the corner of her eye.

Once I was finished, I thought everything still looked kind of plain, so I added some zig-zag here, some zig-zag there.

I’m going to try to be back tomorrow with another sample but I’m having “creativity issues” at the moment.  We’ll see.  If not, I will definately be back early Sunday morning for Kimmie’s May release hop!

You can find links to more design team samples HERE.

Thanks so much for visiting!  Have a great day!

Kraftin’ Kimmie Previews, Day 1

Today the Krafty Team begins previews of Kraftin’ Kimmie’s May releases…and they are HOT! This month Annie has created some adorable summer characters in vintage style suits.  It’s been so much fun playing with them.

Meet Eleanor and Jack (along with new Beachy Sentiments)  🙂

Hey Hot Stuff!

   KKHHS

I didn’t originally intend to cut out the images, but I dropped a marker on the paper, leaving a great big blue blob where I didn’t want one.

KKHHSCUAfter inking Jack, I used a Q-tip to remove the ink from the dots of his eyes, stamped him then added new dots just a tad more to the left so he’s “beaming” at Eleanor.

Once the images were assembled, I inserted three brads, one in each flower center on Eleanor’s cap and I gave her a tiny pearl earring.

You can find links on the Krafty blog to other design team samples each day leading up to Kimmie’s release on Sunday, May 16th.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

I Scream, You Scream

Hi everyone.  🙂  This week with Kraftin’ Kimmie we’re all screaming for ice cream.  Not really.  Well, maybe.  But Vicki has challenged us to use Neopolitan colors–chocolate, strawberry and vanilla.   I didn’t realize until now that my last post used basically those same colors.  Oh well.  I like them.

A Little Birdie Told Me

    KKLBTM

Here I’ve used Small Talk from KK’s Cindy & Mindy line.  My paper is Basic Grey’s  new Capella (and it’s on sale).  So pretty.

A Kraftin’ Kimmie Challenge and Sale

It’s Saturday so that means it’s time for another challenge with Kraftin’ Kimmie.  Jeanne has come up with a fab layout for us this week.  You can see it here on the Challenge Blog.

Wink, Wink (for lack of a better name)

   KKPWW

I stamped Posy (from the Moonlight Whispers line) onto cream cardstock and colored her with Copics.  The ground/grass was added using my colored pencils.

At first I had planned to strictly follow the layout, but that left side just looked way too naked so I decided to add more flowers.

You can see more design team samples on the Challenge Blog.  If you’d like to play, please post a link to your card on the blog for a chance to win a free stamp from Kraftin’ Kimmie!

Flower Power with Kraftin’ Kimmie

Hi everyone!  I’m back today with a sample for Kraftin’ Kimmie‘s weekly challenge.  Andrea is having us use lots of flowers.  Since I’m pretty “flower-challenged,” I decided to use the minimum (which is three).

You Make Me Happy

        ofp

Here I’ve used one of Kimmie’s latest releases, You Make Me Happy (from the Cindy & Mindy line).

I paper-pieced the little girl’s dress and bow and then got lucky with a good color match using a marker for her shoes.

The flowers are my very, very favorite burlap Prima’s from my good friend, Jody.

Be sure to pop on over to the Krafty Challenge Blog to see more design team samples!  Plus we have a very talented special guest sticking around for a while.  Go check her out!  🙂

As always, if you’d like to play along, be sure to post a link on the challenge blog for your chance to win a free Kraftin’ Kimmie stamp!
