I created a shaker behind a cute whale from Huge Hugs stamp set. I used the coordinating die (from Huge Hugs Icons dies) and a couple ocean plants from Ocean Scene.

Whale-Hello-500

I love the sentiment. So cute.  :)

Inside the shaker I placed Queen & Co. Diamonds (super sparkly) and Baby Beads.

celebrate (paper smooches)

Hi everyone!  Today I’m sharing a card using new Party Balloons dies and Celebrate Word die from Paper Smooches latest release. You can find all of the new stamps and dies HERE.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

After die-cutting the balloons, I colored each with a Copic marker, overlapping the common areas to achieve the overlaying colors. The Celebrate word die was colored with Copics as well. I found the word easiest to color before removing the die from the surrounding card stock.

Copic markers – B00, B000, R83, Y11

To finish my card, I adhered some super shimmery star sequins. Pretty quick and easy!

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Creating a Quick and Easy Bokeh Background

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing how I used X-Press It Mask It to create a quick and easy bokeh background for a super cute mermaid. (In searching for a link to this image, it seems the artist has closed her Etsy store. Sorry about that!)

X-Press It Mask It to create a quick and easy background

X-Press It Mask It is a low-tack, flexible masking film with a matte finish, ideal for airbrushing, painting, stenciling, sponging, etc. The film is easily die-cut, leaves no residue whatsoever, and can easily be moved, reapplied and re-used multiple times.

X-Press It Mask It

It’s available in sheets HERE (which is what I use) or rolls HERE.

Step 1: Cut Mask It to size, tape circle dies in place

First, cut a piece of Mask It to size then tape several dies in place.

Step 2 Remove die-cut circles, carefully separate mask from release sheet

I recommend using a shim (like this) when die-cutting to assure the dies cut cleanly through the film. Once die-cut, remove the circles then separate the film from the release paper. I use a pin to help separate the layers.

Step 3 Adhere mask over card stock, begin to blend ink

Adhere the film over the card stock and begin blending in the open spaces. Once ink is blended, carefully remove the film and readhere, positioning the film as desired. So easy! :)  You can find more info on X-Press It Mask It HERE.

Close-up of Bokeh effect using X-Press Mask It

Copic markers – B02, E00, E01, E11, E31, E35, E41, E42, E43, E57, E79, Y21, YG07; X-Press It Mask It

The mermaid was printed onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers (as listed above).

Thanks so much for visiting today! :)

On my card I used new Sweets Dies with a sentiment from Ghoulfriends stamp set. (Sentiments from Sugar Rush would have coordinated perfectly too!)

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

I die-cut all elements from cream card stock then colored with Copic markers. Once colored, I outlined each sweet treat with Glossy Accents.

for you…just beecause (paper smooches)

Hi everyone! Today I’m popping in to share a very quick little tag I created using Paper Smooches‘ new For You tag dies (and a little Courteous Cutie).  :)

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

I die-cut the tag from patterned paper then adhered it to a second die-cut tag (white card stock) for added stability. I die-cut “for you” then adhered to the tag, linking the r and y.

The cute little bee is from new Courteous Cuties. The stamp set is FREE for the month of January with any $60 retail purchase! You can find the coordinating dies here.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

Copic markers – R000, R01, Y17, Y18, YR24

I used Toffee ink to randomly stamp the bee and tiny heart over the kraft envelope, then used white ink (white embossed) to stamp “just beecause” which is from a coordinating sentiment set, Courteous Cuties 2. It perfectly compliments the stamps with lots of perfectly “punny” sentiments. :)

you are loved (paper smooches)

Hi everyone!  Happy New Year!

Today I’m sharing a card using a few new stamp and die sets now available from Paper Smooches.  (You can see all of the latest release HERE.)

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

I used super adorable Courteous Cuties (free through 1/31/17 with any $60 retail order), Courteous Cuties Icons dies and You Are Loved die. The actual jellyfish image/stamp is holding onto a shell. I omitted the shell, stamped an extra arm and adhered it, wrapped around a die-cut Heart. I “fussy-cut” around the image then layered it atop an altered (white) jellyfish shape base with Kool Tak Clear Foam Squares between the layers for added dimension.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

Copic markers – BG11, R01, RV63, V05, Y18, YG03, YG06, YG17

“You are loved” was die-cut from X-Press It Blending Card then colored with Copic markers to create an ombre affect.

Thanks so much for visiting today! :)
