Just a Note

Hi everyone!  I wanted to pop in quickly to say hi and post a little something.  I’ve been taking a break from the computer and stamping to spend time with my family.  We had a fabulous Christmas and it’s been really nice to have the down-time.

Just a Note

      UJAN2

Before the holiday, I finally had time to play a bit with my new Unity.  I have quite the stack developing and really need to use it.  I have Stamping Bella and some CHF patiently awaiting ink as well.  Once I get some “work” done, I plan to dive into that pile.  🙂

I used the last bit of my trim from Jody and colored in the tiny hearts on the typewriter with a red glitter pen.  You can’t tell in the photo but I bent up the corners of the note to add just a bit of interest.

Well, I’m off to find fabric for bedding for a triple bunk my husband made for our daughter’s American Girl dolls.  He did a fabulous job.  I am so impressed!  It’s so much nicer than the $215 dollar bed in the catalog (ACK!).  Let’s hope I can do it justice with the bedding.

I’ll be back soon!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Sweet Pea

TGIF!  I still have a sick boy at home so I’ll be quick today.

I’ve been playing some more with my Unity stamps.  I have the new kit coming soon (and I can’t wait to tear into that) so before it gets here, I thought I should use some of the stamps that have been sitting around for a while.

When I first saw this set, Little Me, I fell in love with it.  I think the images are absolutely adorable.  I paper-pieced the mom’s dress and the baby bundle, then drew in a bit of grass with a semi-dry marker.  (I save my black markers when they’re getting kind of dry just for this purpose.)

I’m off to catch up on some things that didn’t get done yesterday.  Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

It’s a JiFFy Kind of Day

It’s that time again!  The JiFFy girls have been a little bit “folksy” this month…as opposed to a little bit country or rock n’ roll.  Now you’ll have Marie and Donny Osmond singing in your head all day…if you’re old enough to remember that.  😉

This month Alli chose the bird image from Unity’s July kit of the month, “A Pocket Full of…” and Carole chose Graphic 45’s “Hot Tomato” from their Times Nouveau Collection.  I think it’s a perfect match.  (I’m still waiting for that really IMperfect match. (I know it’s coming…sooner or later.)

Happy Day

   UHDBB2

I colored my bird with Copics and then sponged the edges with distress ink.  I used a black 3-d gel pen on the bird’s eye, the solid dots on her UHDBBCUtail and the centers of the x’s on her body.

Be sure to check out what Julie, Kim, Alli and Lori did with the same image and paper.   (Carole is taking a bit of a break.)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

A Little More Unity

URTMCU

I’m really enjoying Unity‘s June Kit of the Month, Perfect in Every Way.  I’ve really liked the last several of their kits…so much, in fact, that I finally decided to join the club.  I have July and August coming soon and I can’t wait to get them.

Remember the Moments

    URTMOS

I used a die cut from my friend, Jody, to form this folded card.  (You can see this die cut and more for sale in her store here.)  The outer band, wrapped in natural jute string (from Sharon’s store here) holds the card closed.

I almost always place a sentiment on the front of my cards but this time I included the message on the inside.  (This one wouldn’t have fit on the front anyway.)

I added lots of sponging with Antique Linen and Walnut Stain Distress inks so the Natural cardstock wouldn’t look so bright against the patterned paper.   (I often do that.)

Thanks so much for stopping by!!  Have a fabulous day!

I’m Back :)

Hi everyone!  We’re back from a fabulous vacation to North Myrtle Beach.  I didn’t want to leave.  The weather was perfect, the beach was perfect, everything was just about perfect.  I hope to have some pictures to share as soon as I’m caught up on laundry, email and a few other things.

I did miss my stamp room and the pile of stamps I had waiting for ink.  In my pile was my first Unity Kit of the Month (along with a couple other things I ordered a while back).  I just adore this image of laundry on the line.

Let’s Hang Out

OFP

I seem to be totally addicted to Cosmo’s Early Bird paper.  I want to use it on everything.  I may have to just move it to the back of the stack for a while.

I colored with my Copic markers, outlining a bit with two shades of gray and attached some tiny clothes pins to the top.

As an afterthought, I decided to pop up the little clothes and birdie.

I better get to my own laundry (plus a few errands…food, post office, bank, blah, blah, blah).  Thanks so much for stopping by!  I’ve missed everyone!  Enjoy your day!
