Wish Big!

Published by Shel9999 under My Designs, Whipper Snapper

Hi everyone!  I hope you’re having a great day!  Mine….could be better.  We had an extra-early morning for swim team pictures, we’re almost in the car and my daughter gets sick…in the garage…which, I suppose, is better than in the car but still…ewwww.  It seems to be one of those wacky things where she’s sick with a 101.5 fever, then for a while she’s perfectly normal with no fever.  Now we’re back to 101.  And let me tell you, when she’s sick, she is NOT a pleasant child.  My son, on the other hand, perfect angel when he isn’t feeling well.  Anyway, my neighbor was kind enough to take my son to the pool so I’ve been home with a little cranky sick girl.  Hopefully, it will be a short-lived thing and she’ll be back to normal soon.

This is a birthday card I made for a good friend.  She likes things big and colorful so I made this 5″ square card using Basic Grey’s new Cupcake paper pad and Whipper Snapper’s Happy Birthday set designed by Anna Wight.  (You can check out Anna’s sets here.)

The paper-pieced gift is adhered to the white panel using pop dots.  (I used a craft knife to cut inside the bow loops.)  The balloons are paper-pieced as well with the long center balloon raised on pop dots.

Ribbon was dyed to match the paper using Copic markers.  And I seem to want to zig-zag around everything lately. lol. Oh well.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Have a great day!

Let there be Cake

Published by Shel9999 under My Designs, Whipper Snapper

Hey there!  Here’s another sample using Anna’s fun new Whipper Snapper set, Happy Birthday.

Happy Birthday

HBAWS

I had some scraps of Imaginisce “For Peep’s Sake” paper lying around and I just couldn’t toss them.  Even though it’s spring/Easter/chicky-type paper, I thought I’d get the most of it and use just the backs of the scraps here.

I colored the cake and candles with Copic markers then added a dot of white gel pen to the center of each dot on the cake.  (Card size 5″ x 5″.)

I’ve really enjoyed designing with Anna’s stamps these last two months.  I wish I could do another!  But two-month runs are fun and it keeps everything fresh.  Thanks, Anna, for letting me play!!  (And for making me laugh for an entire day, you funny, funny girl!)  Whew! lol.

Thanks so much for visiting!  Have a great day!

More Fun with “Happy Birthday”

Published by Shel9999 under My Designs, Whipper Snapper

WOOHOO! It’s Friday!  :)  So I mentioned before that I was finally working on my very own stamp room…  I’ve had some new furniture in “my room” but I haven’t been able to use any of it because I’m missing a piece and everything ties into this missing corner piece.   But it’s coming tomorrow!! I’m SO excited!!  I’ll finally be able to start loading up those shelves with my stamp stuff.  The bad news is that my project table is on backorder (said with distaste) until JUNE!  ACK!  Looks like I’ll be dragging in a folding table to use in the meantime.  But I’m just so excited to finally be getting my very own room!  No more feeling guilty (or, I suppose “embarassed”  is more appropriate) about the HUGE mess I make everyday in my dining room.  YAY!  So, in the meantime, I’m “wishing big” that my table comes early!

WBAWS2This is my second favorite card I’ve made using Anna’s new Happy Birthday set from Whipper Snapper Designs.

I masked off the poof on top of the hat then stamped the hat upside down.  After masking the top of the hat (which is now actually the top of an ice cream cone), I stamped the balloons (which are actually scoops of ice cream), masking them also as I went along.

I colored the images with Copic markers then added paper glaze to the ice cream scoops.  (And yes, Aleene’s Paper Glaze is the same as Crystal Effects…you can see it here.)

That’s about it! :)

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a fabulous Friday!

Happy Birthday and …Santa? Is that you?

Published by Shel9999 under My Designs, Whipper Snapper

Hi!  Today I have samples from Anna Wight’s newest Whipper Snapper Designs release, Happy Birthday (available now).  I love this set as much as her last, Bundle of Joy!    :)

Wish Big

WBAWSP

I made this card for one of my daughter’s friends (another lover of pink).  I colored the cake image with Copic markers, adding some sparkle with Stardust Stickles in the center of each white dot.  I matted the stamped image onto another block of white cardstock for the “faux nestabilities” look, and the matted image is raised on pop dots.  (Card size 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″.)

I wanted matching gift wrap so I used one of the bigger dots to stamp the white wrapping paper.  :)

Let’s Celebrate!

And here is my favorite of my cards (so far) using this set.  I can’t tell you how this popped into my head, but once I had the idea, I just *had* to make it work.  I stamped the hat at an angle and masked it off with a post-it note.  Then I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the cupcake upside down.  I used a black marker to add a couple dots for eyes and a pink marker to add the rosy cheeks.  And there you have it! Santa!  :)   (You can see the actual cupcake image in the photo below.)  I colored Santa and his hat with Copic markers.  The paper is from Basic Grey’s Dasher (blue Christmas theme).

Pea Pod Boats

Published by Shel9999 under My Designs, Whipper Snapper

I have another sample today using Anna Wight’s Bundle of Joy by Whipper Snapper Designs.  I have so enjoyed this set!  (And now I am totally prepared should I *ever* need a baby card!)

Congratulations

PP2

My first intention was to use a red patterned paper here.  It had little dots of light blue, dark blue, green…really cute “little boy” paper.  But I couldn’t get it to work so instead I used the back sides of the two papers, this light blue and green, and I decided to make my own patterns.  The stars and boats were stamped with Celery ink, the white dots and sails colored in with a white gel pen.

The entire focal image is paper-pieced.  I stamped the the image onto the block of white, then onto the blue, green and vanilla (for the faces) paper.

I’m off to get my tea now before my face slams into my keyboard.  I stayed up late to watch the Celebrity Apprentice finale.  I was so disappointed with the outcome.  But what a great show that turned out to be!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a fantastic Friday! :)

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (white)   Patterned Paper:  Deja Views {my precious boy} Light Blue and Dark Green   Stamps:  Whipper Snapper “Bundle of Joy”   Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black, Stazon Jet Black, Certainly Celery   Accessories:  Copic markers, SU Certainly Celery marker, white gel pen, American Crafts eyelets, Crop-a-dile. Card size 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.

Welcome Baby

Published by Shel9999 under My Designs, Whipper Snapper

I’ve been a little under the weather lately and busy with doctor appointments for my son so I haven’t had much stamping time.  I do have this card that I made a few days ago using Anna Wight’s Bundle of Joy from Whipper Snapper Designs.  (I’m nowhere near tired of this set yet so I hope you aren’t either!)

Welcome Baby

WBBG

This was a pretty quick design to “throw together.”  I paper-pieced the balloons and scarf (one balloon is raised on a pop dot), colored in the beak and water, then outlined the goose with a light gray Copic.

Since I don’t have any of those very cool and trendy Nestabilities (YET), I faked it by layering the focal image onto another piece of vanilla cardstock.

Since I didn’t have any truly “ivory” brads, I just punched two 1/4″ circles from vanilla cardstock and adhered them to a couple of “putty-ish” thumbtack brads.

There’s very little coloring (which is sometimes nice–quick and easy) and I like the lift of the one balloon and coordination of those balloons and the scarf.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I’m off to find that tissue box!  See you soon!

Over the Moon

Published by Shel9999 under My Designs, Whipper Snapper

I was going to wait a bit before posting more samples from Anna Wight’s Bundle of Joy (available from Whipper Snapper Designs), but I couldn’t wait to share this one.  I’m really happy with how it turned out.  (Is it ok to say that? :) )

Welcome Baby

WBCWS

One of my favorite sets of baby girl patterned papers (or just”girl” in general) is the “My Baby Girl” line from Pebbles, Inc.   The blue baby boy patterns are just as cute with similar designs but with stars instead of flowers.

I didn’t have a solid cardstock that I felt was a good match to these colors, so I decided to just mat the image with another one of the prints.  I kind of like the look!

I colored the images with Copic markers then decided to cut around each of the stars before matting.  And the focal image is raised on dimensionals (because I can’t seem to make a flat card).

Thanks so much for looking!  I have even more samples I’ll post later.  (I *really* like this set!)  Have a great day!

Welcome Baby

Published by Shel9999 under My Designs, Whipper Snapper

Here’s another design using Anna’s new set, Bundle of Joy, by Whipper Snapper Designs.   I used my favorite image in the set, the little pea pod baby.  Awwww…  :)

Welcome Baby

wb350Using Brillance Graphite Black ink, I stamped the image onto vanilla cardstock, then again onto solid green and solid pink.  The pea pod and pink blanket are paper-pieced, with the front leaf popped up on a dimensional.  I colored in the little face with Copic markers, then outlined the image with a Cool Gray Copic.

I used my corner rounder to make the scallops, adding the flower eyelets with my Crop-a-dile.

More designs coming soon!

Truly a Bundle of Joy!

Published by Shel9999 under My Designs, Whipper Snapper

What a nice surprise to be asked by the mega-talented Anna Wight to be a Guest Designer for her new line of stamps with Whipper Snapper Designs!   Yes, yes, YES!!  I was just a bit excited (lol) and even more so when I saw the first set, Bundle of Joy.

Congratulations

ZTRI can’t show a baby frame without a cute baby, right? Meet my nephew, Zack.  Isn’t he cute?  Actually, he’s five now but still totally adorable.

I thought I’d make a little gift set using the sailboat and star.  The frame was a Target Dollar Spot find.  Since the photo is not covered by glass but a thin, removable piece of plastic, I had to be creative in getting the sailboat to appear to “float” over the photo.   I stamped the image onto a transparency using black Stazon then paper-pieced the sailboat, stamping onto the back sides of the Crate Cowboy patterned paper.  Once the pieces were adhered to the transparency, I carefully cut around the sailboat, and attached the water to the backside of the patterned paper frame cover.  (The actual boat is not attached to anything but upheld by the transparency.)

Don’t miss out on samples by Anna’s other March/April designers.  I think we all had a fun time with this set!BOJ
