Merry & Bright…different looks (and a winner)!

Published by Michele Boyer at 11:51 am under Lizzie Anne Designs, My Designs

MB400I issued myself a challenge with this Merry & Bright set by Lizzie Anne Designs.  I wanted each card to be a totally different style.

Here is the first one I made a while back (with a “western” spin).

This one (left) is kind of “funky.”  :)  The colors and patterns are very non-traditional.  I rounded the corners and used markers to color in the lights.  I wasn’t sure I liked this one at first, but it’s growing on me.  (It’s just a style I’m not used to producing.)

Cardstock:  SU Bravo Burgundy, Whisper White     Patterned Paper:  Fiskars/Heidi Grace Designs “Sugar Plum Forest Twigs” and “Sugar Plum Forest Jersey Stripe”     Stamps:  Lizzie Anne Designs “Merry & Bright”     Ink:  SU Bravo Burgundy     Accessories:  SU markers (Always Artichoke, Certainly Celery, Blush Blossom), corner rounder, burgundy grosgrain, dimensionals.  Finished card size 5 ½” x 4 ¼”.WY425a

This one (right) is very traditional.  I stamped the sentiment onto vanilla cardstock then added the two poinsettias on the left.  When I trimmed around the sentiment, I cut around the flowers so they are “out of the box.”  I then stamped two more poinsettias on scraps of cardstock, colored and cut them out.  I cut in between some of the petals and layered them on the first poinsettias, tucking little pieces of pop dots under the petals so there is lots of dimension.  Then I added Platinum Stickles to the centers.

Cardstock:  SU Ruby Red, Very Vanilla     Patterned Paper:  7gypsies “Bazrah” and “Gazi”     Stamps:  Lizzie Anne Designs “Merry & Bright”     Ink:  SU Black   Accessories:  SU markers (Ruby Red, Summer Sun, Old Olive), mat pack/needle, ivory taffeta, gold cord, edge distresser, Platinum Stickles, dimensionals.  Finished card size 5 ½” x 4 ¼”.

.

And now our winner….#313 Kathy Johnson!!!  Kathy, please send me an email with your address and I’ll get your package in the mail this week.  Thank you, EVERYONE, for your kind words and for sharing your favorites!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great fall day!

“Wow” I just “jumped out of my chair”–just went over to see who won–I saw “my” name–this is a “first” for me–so wasn’t expecting it!!! :-)

Sure hope it’s “this” Kathy Johnson you’re talking about–yep–I just went back to check–there were no numbers listed–so I counted back from 324–and “it’s me”!!! :-)

Love your Merry & Bright card (may have to go make another visit to Jacksonbelle’s!!!)–well actually all the cards you share are “awesome”–you’ve sent me “out shopping” many a time!!! ;-)

    Thanks again Michelle!!! :-)

Love the cards! My daughter’s name is Bright — though we are Jewish, I often look at Christmas sets and LOVE seeing her name there ;^)* Haven’t splurged to buy them, though.

And I admit, when I had a second child, it did cross my mind, in the age of the Lord of the Rings movies, to call my younger daughter Merriweather, so I could get stamps that say, “Merry and Bright” — but I didn’t want to make my younger daughter feel like an “extra” in some cheesy saying

Congratulations, Kathy! Have fun with your spoils
