Versatility In the Treetop

Published by Shel9999 at 8:46 am under Lizzie Anne Designs, My Designs

Happy Hump Day!

I thought I’d challenge myself to get a few very different looks from In the Treetop by Lizzie Anne Designs.  To help a bit, I used LAD’s Celebrations Sayings instead of the two sentiments in the stamp set.

A Warm Hello

WH1For this first card, I pretty much stuck with the obvious…a nice little tree, the little bird.  If you look closely, you can see a thin red line around the treetop, matching one of the trees on the patterned paper.  To do this, I inked the treetop stamp then lightly dragged the brush end of a Ruby Red marker around the edges.  It worked great!

Cardstock:  SU Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip   Patterned Paper:  Basic Grey Mellow Paper Pad   Stamps:  Lizzie Anne Designs “In the Treetop” and “Celebrations Sayings”   Ink:  SU Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke   Accessories:  SU Ruby Red marker, American Crafts Chestnut mini-brads, pop dots.  Card size 5 ½” x 4 ¼”.

Celebrate

CB1

This one is *really* different (hopefully in a good way).  I used one of the treetops for the balloons.  I stamped onto the back side of the paper, cut out the shape, then carefully traced around the edges with a black marker.  The balloons are adhered to the background using pop dots.

The “package” is from the “Celebration Frames” set (also raised on pop dots) and the paisley background is from “Jolies Fleurs.”

I used a Copic marker to color the white string.

Once everything was assembled, I carried over the lined dots from the background paper, adding dotted borders with a Chocolate marker.

Cardstock:  SU Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla   Patterned Paper:  Doodlebug “Cherry Blossoms,” “Chocolate Paisley,” “Very Cherry Paisley” and “Neopolitan Stripe”   Stamps:  Lizzie Anne Designs “In the Treetop,” “Celebrations Sayings,” “Celebration Frames,” “Jolies Fleurs”   Ink:  SU Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa   Accessories:  Chocolate Chip marker, Lt. Walnut Copic marker, white string, pop dots.  Card size: 3 ¼” x 6 ½”.

.
Merry Christmas

MC2

And lastly, I made a very simple, little Christmas card.  (Pretty self-explanatory.)

Cardstock:  SU Chocolate Chip, Bordering Blue   Patterned Paper:  Basic Grey Figgy Paper Pad   Stamps:  Lizzie Anne Designs “In the Treetop”    Ink:  SU Chocolate Chip, Bordering Blue   Accessories:  Slit punch, grosgrain.  Card size: 4 ¼” x 4 ¼”.

It’s a fun set with LOTS of possibilities!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!  Have a great springy day!!

Oh my gosh, Michelle!! These are all so fabulous. I love that delicate little red line you added to the first tree. It’s subtle but really helps define the tree. Very cool. And the balloons are just so creative. The last card is beautiful. Love the ribbon treatment.

  22. […] Apparently, I wasn’t the only one, because my good friend Michele posted a card with the same idea! I must have been having a good day, because I never think on the same lines as Michele. […]
