Giving Thanks

Published by Shel9999 at 9:51 am under Cornish Heritage Farms, My Designs

Hi everyone!   I had hoped to post this yesterday but there was a bit going on around here…Tropical Storm Hanna dropped about six inches of rain, I had to take my daughter to a birthday party in the middle of it, my husband is painting our kitchen so it’s a BIG disaster, the kitchen faucet was leaking down beneath the cabinet and my son took a big spill on his bike (obviously after the storm). Sheesh.  Anyway, all is well (except for my kitchen) so for that I am thankful.

Giving Thanks for You

        GTFYR

This card uses Cornish Heritage Farms Stamp of the Month, Giving Thanks.  The sentiment comes along with the image.  I used some old markers to color the stamp, spritzed with water and stamped on the paper.  I sponged the edges then used the Cracked Glass technique (which I love and don’t do often enough).  I used three coats of ultra thick embossing powder, popped my piece into the freezer for about a minute, took it out, bent the paper and a bunch of the pieces flew right onto the floor.  I didn’t want to restamp the whole thing so I just dabbed more Versamark onto the naked parts, added more UTEE, refroze and it worked fine.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you’ll come back tomorrow for the Monday Chicks Challenge!  Have a great day!

What a beautiful card! I’m really glad you were able to ‘mend’ your broken - not just cracked - glass. Hope all is back to normal by now.

Incredibly beautiful card Michelle, I’m so ready for Fall! I can so relate to the hurricanes. Looks like this season is going to be a busy one. Now we’ve got Ike headed toward the Gulf.

Wow! Now THIS is gorgeous! It’s the perfect fall card. I guess I shouldn’t complain about our weather. At my house, right on the coast, it’s a little windy and chilly but at least we’re not having hurricanes. I hope your days have improved now. Sometimes everything happens at once!

Your cracked glass looks amazing, and I’m glad to hear you were able to save the piece by just adding more UTEE!! (I will have to remember that one). Gorgeous papers, stitching and bow!!

(Gosh I missed a lot, but I’m glad I’m all caught up now. *wink*)
