A Bit of News and Warm Wishes
Hi everyone. I have a bit of news to share today. Not big, huge life-changing news (thank goodness)–just “little” (but still important) news.
As most of you know, I’ve been part of the Cornish Heritage Farms Design Team for a while. I’ve had a great time being part of the CHF family, and I truly appreciate all of the wonderful opportunities that experience has afforded me, as well as all of the dear friends I’ve made there, but I have decided to leave the team. I’ll still be using CHF images (at a minimum, you know I can’t go without the fabulous Kim Hughes sets), but I’ll have a little more free time for publication work, F-U-N (isn’t that what stamping is supposed to be about?) and who knows what else. It’s a big change for me, but I feel certain it’s a good one.
Now, moving on…
Warm Wishes
I waited a long time (or so it seems) to find this image by Whiff of Joy. So cute. I’m still experimenting with shading backgrounds and might have gone a bit overboard with the “glow” here. Maybe she has a candle behind her…or maybe her sweater is on fire. Eek! Anyway, I’m practicing.
As an afterthought, I decided to add a bit more dimension to the card so I stamped the image a second time, colored the sweater cuffs, her hands and the cup and cut out only those parts (as one piece). I glued the cuffs over the image but placed a pop dot under the cup. Much better!
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope to get back to my more regular timing with posting, but my first goal is to clean my stamp room. It is a very scary place right now. But I’ll be back soon! I have a “Just for Fun” challenge with Carole just around the corner! Have a great day!

Adorable - great card!
GOOD LUCK with your choice, change is good!! The card is soooo adorable too!!
Well, congratulations, I’m so proud of you! While I haven’t tried to submit any of my work for publication (too skeered!), I did decide to back away from design team work. I want to spend more time with Daniel. Stephen’s off at college and I only have a couple of years with Daniel before I’m an empty nester. While I am designing for Me & Carrie Lou, it’s at my own pace, whenever I want. I think you’re going to be very happy with your decision Michele. And, hey, congratulations on making the cover of Card Maker, your card (and cards inside the publication) was fabulous!!!
Well, although CHF will miss you dearly, you know what’s best for you and you will be sucessful in everything you do!
I love your coloring on this card! The image is just adorable and love your design!
Good luck on your new ventures!!! Your card is absolutely gorgeous!!
Love this Willow image! You did a gorgeous job with it! I know CHF will miss your talent, but I know exactly where to find you.
Hugs, Michele! I’m sure it was a tough decision. Enjoy your next adventures in stamping! Love the card!
Super cute - love it!
On fire, lol!! I like it! Pretty card, I love the papers and colors!
Congrats on your cover page card for CardMaker magazine - love it!!
Beautiful card Michele and best wishes to you on your new ventures!!
Hi, Michele! First, that had to have been a difficult decision–I know. I hope you enjoy the change in the quality of your time and have a chance to do whatever makes you most happy. Just don’t jump from the frying pan into the fire–whatever.
Second, you had me in stitches over the candle glow or sweater-on-fire comment! Your coloring is great, and I love the glow. I also like the way you glued down the cuffs and popped up the cup so her hands are elevated, too. Very cool! Happy holidays!
too cute Michele! lol about the fire!!
you know my thoughts *wink*…. enjoy!!
Aaack! I love this card — she looks just like me, if I had long brown hair, didn’t wear glasses, was 25 lbs lighter and 25 years younger… (it’s all about me, you know…) : ) Totally cracked up at the ’sweater on fire’ — she shouldn’t be wearing those acrylic sweaters you know. Not only are they itchy, they’re highly flammable!
I’m going to miss you on the Farm, but I’m excited to see all the cool stuff you’ll be doing and how you’ll enable all of us now. You’re a pro and a true stamping genius. (Sorry, your humbleness, but it’s true!!!) Doesn’t matter what you do or who you do it for — if you make it, we will come!!! (((Michele!)))
You will be missed!!!!

Wowza this is a big news day! I have to agree with Julia…you are gold. Whatever you touch turns into gold. Your talent is out of this world and I am always in awe when I see what you can do with a little ink, some paper and some stamps. I have been a fan of yours for a long time now and certainly will be coming back for some more “Michele fix”. All the best to you.
What a fabulous card!! Your coloring looks amazing, and I love the layout!! Pretty felt flowers too!!
Congratulations on your news, and have fun with your freelance work!! I know I’ll be enjoying whatever you share!!
I miss you.
I will be checking out your blog to see your fabulous creations and I wish you all the best sweet girl.
